In case you missed the “glamorous” peek of my current kitchen milieu at the new house (yep, we made the move and live in DIY DUST CENTRAL), find it HERE. It feels strange to be starting over, but the sweetest family with a newborn happily moved into the woodsy cottage we transformed so it helps to know it is loved. Do serene, tone on tone, Scandi-style romantic and decidedly spare interiors pull at your heartstrings? PREPARE for LOVELYLAND. French Nordic Living Decor: Creatives to Discover on Instagram inspires with fresh and simple #frenchnordicliving. Admiration for: vintage treasures, romance, and a white palette is a common thread.
But first…oh, my soul! Ever seen the charming board and batten tiny house store designer Monika Hibbs built? The Vancouver store’s white interior and exterior will inspire!
You’ll want to follow all of these talented grammers!
French Nordic Living Decorators to Discover on Instagram
1. Villa Jenal
The beauty of an aesthetic like Nordic French is that we can create it wherever we call home. This mom of five in Thurgau, Switzerland certainly knows her way around romantic decor…can you imagine a garden with this perch below?
I so love to study white on white compositions like this hall outfitted with shallow storage and a mirror I’d love to snatch!
Would you, could you, imagine dreaming in a splendid not-so-shabby she shed in Switzerland?
So much inspiration when you appreciate the softer side of dreamy serene decor.
Look at those peepers!
I loved seeing the taper candles casually leaning in the jar (below) since I do this at home as well, using my vintage Dundee jars.
2. Cathrine Aust
What is it that makes my heart skip a beat at the sight of #frenchnordicliving interiors like this one below?
There’s no modern art to render the space more edgy. And just enough contrast. Tons of texture and lovely geometric voodoo work their magic. And then there’s the ORDER of those collected tureens!
Life beyond home is complicated and chaotic enough. Why not welcome a truly serene tureen dream?
The quietness of all white or mostly white spaces done right always feels like a gentle, nurturing, embrace.
With white linens this sumptuous and vintage lighting this romantic, who could resist a cup of tea and delightful lingering here?
Check out my Swedish and French Nordic Pinterest boards and re-pin away!
3. La Maison Blanche
This talented stylist (and mother to five!) pursues the beauty of imperfection as a seller of brocante and refurbished furniture. She hopes to move to France someday soon, and I can only imagine the enchanting nest she will make.
The wabi-sabi wonder of La Maison Blanche’s vignettes and curation of quirky treasures surely elicits a sigh if you too relish in such finds.
So much soulful simplicity and “undone” rustic Nordic French style makes me smile and reminds me of everyday magic that exists in the mundane.
Am I ready for a fluffy kitty to nap on our Belgian linen sofa? This charming instagram account makes a strong case.
Say HELLO LOVELY to more French, Nordic and tone on tone goodness in case you’re ready for more!

Most of our home is tone on tone/white on white too. This is the kind of post that makes my heart sing! The rooms you’ve shown are as close to perfection as I can imagine.
This post is definitely one to bookmark so as to easily find it often. 🙂

YES. Living in fear waiting for the other shoe to drop or for the sky to fall is one way to live…and thank the Lord it is not the only way. Healthy mindsets shape our lens and how we look out into the world has consequences. Why not become a permeable, willing, open receptacle of wonder and wonderful-ness?
Soothing post to read and pictures to admire! The one w/ the lovely tureens reminds me why I love my shiplap SO much. It adds texture & interest even if nothing or barely anything is hanging on the walls! I came across a horse that looked just like the one in your post…same size too. I thought it was so cool & unique & walked around and around it trying to imagine how I could use it, but ultimately passed on it. Now I kinda wished I hadn’t! Haha! Also, love all the hooks across the wall in that kitchen pic! I’m about to hang some in my side entry way & want to do something similar somewhere in my kitchen…I love that look of useful/beautiful things hanging on the ready and yet also such interest to your decor! Thanks for your endless inspiration, Michele! Enjoyed quick video of your new kitchen…can’t wait for more before & after pics!

Isn’t that annoying when an inspiring photo reminds us of a treasure we passed up that we should have snagged!?! hahahahaha. Happens way too much to me with all the design I see! Thanks for sharing what especially resonated from this post. I am needing these inspiring interiors more than ever with all of the decisions for the new place. Looking forward to sharing more behind the scenes glimpses soon, but it is not at all easy to do the work AND chronicle it! 🙂
