Beautiful French Country Bastide: St-Rémy-de-Provence
Haven In’s beautiful Provençal vacation home at the foot of the Massif des Alpilles, is ideally situated within easy access to St-Rémy-de-Provence in the heart of Provence.

What to expect from the village? Fall in love, be charmed by friendly locals and also daily markets. Enjoy festivals and celebrations too.

My blogging pal who resides in Southern France and authors Taste of France told us:

“Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is such a sweet town. If you go, be sure to check out the table d’hôte (so not quite a restaurant–there’s no menu to choose from; you take what’s served) at a house built into a cave in a former Roman quarry. Just past the asylum where Van Gogh stayed.” Read about it RIGHT HERE.

Green on the Timeless French Château Shutters!

If you saw last summer’s French farmhouse tour of a French farmhouse near Bordeaux, we learned homeowner (Charlotte of Vivi et Margot) painted her rustic shutters a popular green, known in the region as:
TOLLENS Vert Olivier (satin) purchased at Castorama. See ideas for French greens HERE.
Shutters at Chateau Mireille seem to be in this green family, don’t you think?

Oh what a most lovely sight to see these incredible gardens, and interiors too, on yet another day with dull and gloomy sky in my area! I shall keep these images close on my computer for bright images to reflect on.
I especially like “Don’t quit your daydream” saying. Oh yes, yes, yes! 🙂

Love your energy, outlook, and kindness – thanks for being a blessing! xox
Do you know what the word simplistic means? From your use of it, apparently not.

Simple/understated/pared down is what I was after rather than simplistic, Rosemary. Thanks for reading. Do bear in mind, I’m a fleshy imperfect writer at midlife who often blogs after midnight – no need for harsh tones here when I’m open to friendly constructive help.
You’re very rude. Be kind or say nothing at all Rosemary. Michelle is a beautiful spirit.
Thank you for all your hard work. I look forward to your Post everyday. I can hardly find the word to describe this one. I will dwell on it all day. Many times. Thank you again!

I’m so lucky to have you hear reading. Thanks so much for leaving lovely footprints here, and I hope to keep bringing inspiration to color your days. 🙂
Love, love, love the simple, yet elegant, neatly trimmed boxwoods in concrete urns. I never tire of that look. I can’t wait to add some inside and outside as soon as we are able. I love what those add to any decor no matter where they are placed! Thanks again for another lovely post full of inspiring design we can glean from as we attempt to create loveliness in our own homes.

It’s such a classic look, and my boxwoods are so wild in comparison. Our lot is very rustic and woodsy so it works here, but oh what a sight to see a more structured garden as this. Thanks for reading, Amy. xox
This is the most beautiful post! The outdoor areas and gardens are pure bliss, and love the inspiring quotes. Thanks Michele!

You can practically smell the lavender and sweet fragrances right through the secreen! Thanks for stopping by today, beautiful.
Love the stone/concrete table, benches, & low walls throughout the gardens. I look forward to adding some low stone walls in our landscaping when we are able to get to. And I’ve always wanted to incorporate some type of fountain outside…love the sound of trickling water along with trains passing in the distance…certain sounds like those are just so pleasing to me and add such ambience. 😊

Sounds great – landscaping is definitely not our strong suit so we need easy maintenance but I’m thinking about a fountain as well – have never done that, and I would love the relaxing sound. Always a pleasure to hear what you’re up to, friend!
