You know how much I adore quiet, ethereal, serene, simple, mostly white interiors, and I’m betting you will also find lovely muted inspiration within: House Tour: White, Spare & Vintage London Home.
House Tour: White, Spare & Vintage London Home
Who lives here? I bet you won’t be surprised to learn this lovely home belongs to a photographer. It is located in Stoke Newington, London, and offered by The Beach Studios as a location for shoots.
What’s to love? White walls, painted wood floors, traditional architecture, a mix of vintage style furnishings, an abundance of natural light, a serene and airy mood, quiet colors, simple decor, a bit of black in every room, unfussy window covering, and pared down elegance.

Daily Transformation Inspiration
As I soak in this simple, lovely, undone inspiration from the decor above, I do it in weakened state. I’m under the weather today with a sinus infection causing every bone in my face to throb with pain.
I’m reminded of how often I take for granted the thousands of systems in my body which work masterfully to keep me healthy and productive.
When illness forces us to slow down, be needy, rest, and heal, our awareness heightens of the blessing of: a day without pain and fatigue, a day of normalcy, the mercy and kindness of others.
What a blessed opportunity to become still and to fill with gratitude for the wellness I am so fortunate to routinely enjoy, for those mundane days where I am mostly not aching, for the manner in which this body serves me so beautifully well.
This life is indeed a gift, and even sinus infections can be a teacher – can be recycled into greater wisdom to ultimately prosper us on the journey!
Oh, friends, these reflections are always much more than cleverly wrought silver linings. It is not my intent to encourage others to resist the shadow side of life. The shadow indeed belongs. It is rich with meaning.
Rather, I am compelled to speak the language of the heart and to acknowledge the sweet note buzzing through the air. As I glimpse reality through a divine lens, my optimism and hope may ring as childlike naïveté.
Yet this light is grounded in a transformed consciousness…which holds the great paradox in its fullness, which honors and prepares room for the presence of Fierce Grace, which is holy and wholly accessible daily with my simple YES.

Love all the simple decor inspiration in this post. Especially appreciate your words of truth & wisdom to live by in your Daily Transformation Inspiration! Mundane days of normalcy truly are a blessing and we see this more clearly on the difficult days. But then that is the blessing of the difficult days…to be reminded of all our daily blessings that can be so easily missed without those difficult days. Praying for restful days so that you can get back to the joy & beauty of the mundane soon!
Yes! It all truly belongs, and even the resistance plays an important part. The more I can allow reality to be reality, the more peace seems to come to my spirit. Thank you for the blessing of your healing words. xox
I’m sorry to hear about your sinus infection. They can definitely be miserable. And yet you continue to inspire us with this lovely home and your lovely words. Honest and uplifting. God is using your talents in a powerful way my friend!
Thanks for reading them and for your healing words of mercy, Holly. This journey (all because one day in 2008 I woke up and decided to become a writer) has been so rich and wondrous, and without a reader, I’m not sure I would feel this inspired. xox
Yes, every day is a gift. Realizing it is the key. Make the most of your day, whatever that may be.
I hope you are feeling better soon, Michele. I know you’ll make the most of this day even if it is to snuggle in, reach out to a loved one, read a book, watch nature from your window…
Thanks for your healing thoughts of kindness – all of those options are keepers. xox
I positively love all the white! The midcentury modern isn’t “me” but I can see these rooms in some spare, French-inspired furnishings, were they mine to redesign.
White painted floors! We have them in our master bedroom and love them! Hoping to do them (maybe even this summer) in our LR even though most people around here would think we’re unabashedly crazy! LOL!
With the quietude that white has for me, I found great rest in viewing these lovely images.
You’re so right about how the bones of this place would easily support a number of different design styles beautifully! Is that one of the reasons we creatives love a white envelope – the ease in making tweaks and adjustments seamlessly? I love white painted floors and totally understand why you may go for it in your living room – it quiets everything like the deluge of snow we have at the moment! xox
Thank you for all the lovely thoughts interspersed with the lovely spaces.
My pleasure, friend!
