Cindy Hattersley is one of my favorite interior designers in blogland for the loveliest reasons. First, her gracious, hospitable spirit shines through her all of her beautiful design work. Second, she frequently takes the time to demystify the design process, empowering others to achieve a designer look. Thirdly, her creativity and artful eye for design details are a killer combo for arriving at a cohesive yet effortless look. 5 Tips for Creating a Stunning Fall Table spotlights a few of Cindy’s breathtaking fall tablescapes along with advice from the designer.

About the Designer
Cindy grew up in the Midwest before relocating to the Central Coast of California where she has lived for decades as a busy interior designer. She loves to decorate in the season of fall as you will discover in this feast of organic, natural, and lush Thanksgiving inspiration. She calls her style “rough luxe” – a luxurious blend of rustic and refined goodness.
I know you will take away lovely ideas for your fall tables and if you’re hosting, a beautiful Thanksgiving tablescape!

No. 1: Be a Collector
“I am a strong believer in a collected look and like to incorporate antiques and vintage items into my decor.” That philosophy is applied to her tablescapes in which she incorporates natural style, fresh flowers, and greens from her yard. She believes firmly in using what you have on hand to create a custom look at home.
No. 2: Shop Your Yard
This lovely fall tablescape with paisley print linens and woven placemats was created in conjunction with Cindy’s project design series, and you can find more details and sources for it in this post. Since she has a wonderful large garden, most of the flowers for the centerpiece were sourced from it.

No. 3: Fake Your Dining Table
One year, Cindy covered the family’s pool table in the game room with plywood and a big burlap tablecloth to create an over-sized, bountiful Thanksgiving table.
How smart and playful is that!?! To get the scoop on that tablescape visit her post here.

No. 4: Recycle a Centerpiece Base
Cindy’s custom fence board box again is a favorite of hers, and she utilized it again for a Thanksgiving arrangement filled with what was available in her garden as you’ll see in this Thanksgiving themed post.

No. 5: Desperation Can Yield Inspiration
The beautiful tablescape below is the result of pure desperation, according to Cindy. “I used wicker bottles I had on hand and added greens from my olive trees.” The napkin rings? The designer transformed Christmas ornaments scored at Walmart! This creative dynamo is giving us all permission to allow desperation to nudge us into creativity whether we are short on time or budget!
