Rooms With Blue: Paint Colors & Inspiring Ideas
It’s crazy that we don’t always categorize blue as earthy considering sky, sea, and flowers! What a beautiful hue to wear and decorate our rooms.
Blue Bliss in a Cotswolds Dining Room
Isn’t this heavenly blue pattern a dream on the walls of a dining space in the UK?

Psst. The pretty blue and white tablecloth is from Daylesford HERE. I previously reviewed Carole Bamford’s stunning book – time to order a copy?

This book treats us to elegant table settings, homegrown flower arrangements, seasonal recipes and inspiring interiors. (Can you even imagine pairing these lively greens with a bit or a slew of blue?)

The Daylesford Farmshop opened more than two decades ago on Bamford’s Cotswolds estate. It became arguably the best organic country shop of its kind, with a garden center, exquisite housewares, beauty and fashion products sold around the world.

This book spotlights never-before-seen areas of the estate, restored cottages, and delightful gardens. Decorating and entertaining ideas feature seasonal flowers and tabletop ideas with a rare view into Bamford’s lovely way of life.

You may fall for Farrow & Ball Light Blue as well as Farrow & Ball Parma Gray. While they may appear similar, do sample them before making a final selection since they may look far different in your unique lighting situation.

Decorating With a Bold Blue
If it is your favorite color, don’t hesitate to follow the lead of your favorite designers who use it boldly in high end projects.

Bear in mind not all paint colors include the word “blue” in the name.

Farrow & Ball Railings can appear soft black in photos, but in person, depending on the lighting, it can read more navy blue.

What an unforgettable kitchen, and what do you think about the Belgian bluestone tile?

Wallpapered bathrooms (especially powder baths) have been around forever and are also on trend. It can seem like a grave commitment, but think of the daily returns from an uplifted mood.
What a classic pattern, and isn’t it incredible with gold toned fixtures?

Easing into Blue?
Not sure about living with bold blue patterns on the wall? You could start with a smaller fabric/art piece from an artist/designer you admire. For example, a custom pillow with Rebecca Atwood fabric or a framed panel of wallpaper.

A few favorite classic blue and white wallpaper patterns are RIGHT HERE.

Isn’t it surprising how striking wall coverings can be combined with standard fixtures?

While it is more common to see blue as an accent with white, blue can certainly play the starring role:

This is still my favorite cement tile, and designers love it for backsplashes, three season rooms, and more:
