Wallpaper Inspo
I wish I could identify every wallpaper pattern shown here in the gallery, but the designers and their clients aren’t always keen to share for good reason. So much thoughtful consideration and expense involved!

Let this be a guide when you are at the start of your journey to discover a pattern you can imagine living with for your own space. In our entry at the Georgian, I chose a grisaille paper called “White Trees” by Photowall Sweden.

You could always consult Google Lens or Pinterest with images here if I have not identified the name of the wallpaper.

Wallpaper Patterns Featuring Sophisticated Blue
If it’s your favorite color and you’re ready to create a memorable backdrop, maybe these inspiring designs will strike a chord.
A great place to start if you haven’t lived with wallpaper ever or for a long stretch? A bedroom wall. I have done this time and time again when I’m unsure about covering every wall. Think about it…you can always paper the balance of the walls later if you like.
Another bright idea is to cover the walls of a powder bath with a wallpaper pattern stealing your heart. Instant jewel box.

Whether it’s a DIY or professional installation, it won’t break the bank.
The above installation is genius, yes? If you have a moment like this in your home (between builtins, the interior of bookshelves, a small area that needs drama, etc.), go for it.

Raphael Wallpaper in Blue
Here’s a fan favorite for my Facebook followers for good reason: utterly timeless, serene, and tranquil blue:
Elegant in a living room…

charming in a powder bath…

and notice how it plays so nice with checkered floors!
Do you suppose the blue painted trim could be Farrow & Ball Parma Gray?

Should Wallpaper “Match” Other Rooms?
Have you ever fallen in love with a particular wallpaper pattern but then worried it won’t mesh with the rest of your home’s decor or style?
It would seem a lot of American homeowners are overly anxious about matching and less adventurous about mixing.
Sometimes it’s a departure (for example, creating a jewel box of a powder room with wallpaper) that creates the whimsy.
A bit of tension or mismatching is sometimes key to creating interest in homes with lackluster architecture or defining features.
Imagine how much easier the addition of wallpaper is than demo, construction, or millwork!

Could it Be the Right Time to Find Wallpaper Samples?
Will it help to live with a sample taped to the wall for a little while?
Yes! Another way to live with a sample is to line dresser or desk drawers with the pattern you love.
I have done this with both wallpaper patterns and fabric.
Are you crushing on peacocks? Maybe you aren’t ready to drench the walls with them, but you could start smaller. No need to consider how others may respond to a pattern you fancy.
There’s a sublime freedom when feathering your nest becomes an opportunity to create something that delights your senses (without regard for the status quo).

Peace to you right where you are.
