Why why why do I wait until February to spotlight all things sweet-centric and LOVE CITY? Bless her sweet lil’ heart, there is never a day they don’t belong! Pin the lovely quotes you like!
LOVELY QUOTES & Sweet Lil’ Hearts
Truth be told, I am not one to use the expression ‘bless her heart.’ I grew up hearing it repeated by my Southern aunts and grandmothers, and depending on how you look at it, I turned out to be less demure or less sarcastic. 🙂

Here’s a super quick and easy treat you could make for Valentine’s Day or any day:
Here’s how it is made:
I hope your heart’s full of hope, but if not, that’s okay too.

Even if you’re emotionally mature, live with intention, and live a balanced life, you must admit that allowing reality to be reality is a bit of a challenge these days. I continue to be encouraged by the idea that IT’S MORE THAN OKAY TO NOT KNOW…YET. Can you sense the hope hidden within that encouragement?
Sweet Finds
Cheery stripes and a kimono style?

I’m not a big fan of wearing floral fragrance, but the gourmand variety? Sweet.

Just the most cheerful packaging for a blush ever made…

Easy Heart Cake With No Special Pan Required
I shared this over a decade ago, and even though most bakers own a heart pan, it is nice to know how to do this if you only bake a heart annually:

When your nose is this shape, you are destined to be adored for all time.

What a doll!

Do you make your own candles?
It’s easy! Keep your eyes peeled for heart shaped vessels you can use to create something like this.

If you’re fortunate enough to have antique versions of these milagro hearts…score! But the replicas are pretty swell, and I love mine.
You can write a special love note or tuck a photo inside…

I always like the idea of baking teeny cookies.

But let’s face it, I’m eating handfuls of them anyway!

Touches of Sweet Pink
February is a great month to begin dreaming of spring, and little touches of pink sprinkled around help those midwinter blues.

Such sophisticated simplicity from Pamela Pierce.

And Jill Egan in MILIEU!

Sweet Blast from the Past

I know Valentine’s season can be a commercialized mixed bag of fluff. But I hope Love will draw near to you as the noble teacher you deserve.

On Beauty & Love
It’s worth a listen. To read more from the late John O’Donohue, there’s also THIS.
Peace to you right where you are.
