Atlanta Holiday Designer Showhouse will be open for tours Nov. 21 through December 15th, and you should definitely go! Your admission supports the Atlanta History Center, and this year’s historic 1929 Atlanta home has been faithfully restored by Firelight Homes, Tish Mills Interiors and Kirk Design. I hope to take the tour not just because the interiors promise to be elegant, sophisticated and beyond lovely, but for the history! The 2024 show house is located at 3488 Tuxedo Road, Atlanta, GA 30305. This year, it’s the Atlanta History Center:

Isn’t it the dreamiest?

Overview of 2024’s Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse…This year’s Home for the Holidays Showhouse celebrates the past and present with a faithful redesign of the Buckhead residence where golfer Bobby Jones helped conceive Augusta National Golf Club.

Builder Firelight Homes and Tish Mills Interiors, in collaboration with architectural designer Kirk Design, and landscape architect Floralis Design, have updated the storied residence to today’s standards.

The classic Colonial home is 7,500 square feet thanks to an expansive new addition.

It feels connected to the 1930s, by revitalizing legendary rooms such as Jones’ study and using exterior materials similar to its earlier years.

A new wing and amenities surprise and provide a robust setting for modern lifestyles.

The design-build team reshaped the flow while maintaining the symmetry of the living room, dining room, and historic paneled study.

Openness prevails in the reimagined floor plan that includes a two-story grand hall.

Also reimagined?

New entertaining spaces, such as a family room with a fireplace and coffered ceiling and a kitchen with an island and hidden scullery.

Remembering Showhouse 2022

Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse 2022 was a new contemporary English estate in Buckhead.

The holiday home was situated on one acre with a finished basement, a collaboration between Harrison Design and KBD Development & Construction.

The home’s free-flowing romantic design welcomes light through expected and unexpected choices by the architect and builder.

Holiday Showhouse Inspired Idea: Beautiful Beverage Station

This moment (that wallcovering!) is a reminder that for the holidays, a console, sideboard or even a desk can become a bar, coffee bar or drinks station. A basket or tray to corral bottles, a few glasses, and a pretty strand of garland…boom.

Replace Traditional Red With a Merry Magenta

Pops of this pleasing purple hue in a dining area prove it’s okay to diverge from traditional color schemes.

The only thing possibly more chic than magenta? More magenta. With animal print.
