Paint Colors & Details from a 1931 Timeless Home Makeover
Entry & Stairs
Beck shared the journey renovation of her home on IG so do visit her there to see where this home began. What a transformation of the entry area and stairs.
The attention to even the smallest details is so honorable. Look at the hardware chosen for these custom doors that were added:
So much refined elegance and beauty. Classic wallpaper, antiques, contemporary art, and quality craftsmanship.
Living Room
The elegance factor continues in the living room, yet it feels like such livable luxury.
So much pretty factor! And I am a fan of the pink that shows up in various places. Pink? Wait until you see how it plays a starring role in this:
BEHR Mountain Falls
If you’re after a soft lovely green color like this bath vanity…
The color is Behr Mountain Falls.

Benjamin Moore White Dove in a Timeless Kitchen
When I saw the before photos of this space, it was shocking to see what is possible with thoughtful design.
Maria Beck noted White Dove is a favorite, and it’s easy to see why.
With a light reflectance value (LRV) of 83.16, this off white reflects a considerable amount of light yet feels soft and clean.
That brass range hood, LaCornue range, beautiful window coverings, and builtins are such memorable design features.
And you can’t miss the scallop details in this home! Whether it’s the backsplash or window valance…such a classic repetition.
In fact, lots of curves in this kitchen (chairs, chandelier, table, cabinet toe tick, banquette, and plates on the wall) are perfect with the Shaker style cabinets and other linear elements.
I loved all of the understated beauty including gorgeous brass hardware and cheerful green.
Touches of Blue
Pretty blues find their way into so many rooms of this beautiful home.
I would never tire of this blue sofa, and isn’t that the key to getting timeless design right?
So many happy moments with blue, green, pink, lavender…
When you choose pieces with which you can’t imagine parting and colors that feel like old friends…
The paint color on the built-ins? Farrow & Ball Light Blue.
Abundant Texture for Contrast
Layering beautiful contrasting textures (rustic stone, woven blinds, sumptuous upholstery, hobnail glass) effectively creates a lively energy and so much character.
Would you have the guts to combine all of these patterns and textures below?
And there’s another subway pattern reflected in the mirror!
Is this the prettiest fabric and detailing ever?
