If you aren’t in the market for homewares, then bargain shopping may not be on your radar. Check out my archives for yummy inspo instead! But would you, could you, be in the mood for giggles? And should you have a list like mine to get the house organized and spruced up for spring, maybe you’ll care to browse Wayfair for a peek at price reductions.
First things first. SEPHORA’S SAVING EVENT is happening, and it’s THE time to try beauty items you have been eyeing.
Wayfair
I was super late to shopping Wayfair for homewares, and I blame annoying 2017-era television commercials for the brand.
Annoying jingles inspired me to turn the channel, not browse the site. Also, I couldn’t imagine that so many brands I trusted (Pine Cone Hill? Sarreid? Hooker?) were on the site.
Flash forward.
A sense of humor remains the most essential tool in our box these days!
Hahahahaha.

SPRING Sales, Y’all
Have any windows that need addressed? I bought these for several rooms at the new house and may buy a few more for our bedroom’s sitting room:
If you have measured for ready-made shades, then you know it can be a headache even if you follow the maker’s measuring instructions precisely. No magic pill to share here. At least returns are easy these days!
Bathroom Vanity Sets
We recently bought vanities for our bath, and should you need one…
Wouldn’t the green be cheerful and a fun starting point for a bath? This one is similar to what I installed in a main bath at our prior home:
Classic and blue, I love how the gold fixtures and hardware harmonize here below:
Update For a Powder Room
We added this gold-toned faucet to our powder room’s pedestal sink:
I love the Old World style of this:
We need new towels and bath mats – why is it that a visit from in-laws or a move always magnifies how pathetic and nearly threadbare all your linens are?
And we’ll need sconces for a few places here. I like simple, traditional, timeless styled fixtures that don’t shout 1992…
Carrera Marble Tile
I’m still obsessed with white marble everything these days, and this house just wants it everywhere so I continue to listen: Here’s the tile we almost went with for our bath:
Honeycomb tile is so classic and timeless and feels home-y to me. Ever since we bought our very first 1920s house in Chicago, we have loved us some honeycomb.
Not that there’s anything wrong with basketweaved carrera! Gorgeous!
And the price is gorgeous too:
Here’s the mosaic tile we went with for the bath and shower floor in our master:
We never tire of this pattern, have always loved living with it, and you may recall that when I was chronicling our renovation in 2015, This Old House pinned our shower floor, and it went viral! I was so new to social media and could not comprehend that our under-construction shower floor was on every bathroom Pinterest board.
Crazytown!
Here’s another marble tile I love for a shower or bath:
Wouldn’t it be amazing in a bath, on a shower floor, or for a backsplash behind a range in the right kitchen?
Tables With a Marble Top
While I’m not unhappy with our current everyday round dining table, I know I would love it topped with marble. But have you ever secured a quote for a custom marble tabletop!?!
It’s enough to make you wanna buy new:
Sometimes a faux marble look for certain things just makes good sense.
For example, if you like the look of marble and need decorative shelves for an office or kids room, the weight of real stone is probably less desirable.
Something like these below makes sense because though they’re suggestive of marble, they won’t leave your wall in a crumbly mess and are safer for rambunctious wall-scaling minors.
Table Lamps With Marble Ideas
These caught my eye since I’m introducing gold to some of my interiors.
I can see them in an entry, on a dining room buffet, and even on a kitchen counter:
I was recently on the hunt for marble bedside lamps, and they can get pricey. Sometimes a ceramic lamp base can give you the same feel of marble for a fraction of the price.
Rugs & Floor Mats
I have not bought rugs in years! Since I still need one near the front door, for a bedroom, in bathrooms, etc. it’s time to shop. And even though we moved to this house with a bunch of neutral furnishings and accessories, many of them just. don’t. work.
This new house clearly wants cool tones.
This rug below has muted neutral tones and a low low price. Seems like it would be just right as an accent in a range of different bedrooms even though it’s not gonna be thick and sumptuous.
I’m always on the lookout for cordless lamps so this one from Wayfair caught my eye. There are plenty of situations where you just don’t want an ugly cord showing.
I’m also a fan of modern lighting, and this one has a unique profile:
That said, I have never met a pharmacy lamp I didn’t love. My parents loved ’em so they remind me of home:
Psst. Shopping for homewares and DIY renovation supplies means deliveries. And all of the deliveries can become a massive cardboard mountain rising to the limits in the garage
Consequently, my husband and I become more giddy than I can say each week on garbage/recycling day.
Hahahaha. Thank goodness we have each other on this strange journey.
Worth a watch!
Peace to you right where you are.
