We started our exploration of charm and ingredients for romantic interiors in THIS. Today we’ll continue to demystify how whisper-y moods, soft and pale color stories, and a rustic refined mix elevate the romance. This Timeless French Country Project imagined by Brit Jones (builder: Edge Homes; architect: Blake Hayes) serve as relevant inspiration. The designer’s former Texas home is a longtime favorite.

Romantic Interiors & Paint Colors
Gentle Pastel Paint Color Ideas
Pastel colors often evoke feelings of calmness, serenity, and tranquility. For me, they are suggestive of childhood, innocence, simpler times, and even fairytales. Cotton candy, summer skies, and feminine dresses also spring to mind. Their soft and muted tones create a gentle and soothing atmosphere, which can have a positive impact on mood and emotion.

Curious about how different pastel colors evoke certain emotions?
Soft Blues and Greens
Soft blue is commonly linked with calmness, tranquility, and stability. Gentle blue tones can promote relaxation and a sense of peace. No wonder it is often used in bedrooms and tranquil spaces where you want to promote relaxation.
Light green is associated with nature, growth, and harmony. Pastel green can evoke feelings of freshness, renewal, and balance. Additionally, the color creates a sense of connection to the outdoors and a feeling of vitality.
Silvermist is similar (though a bit more saturated) to another gentle color from Benjamin Moore called Quiet Moments.
What happens when soft blue and soft green meet? The designer revealed that the paint color on cabinets in this mud room/laundry room with desk area is Silvermist. This gorgeous duck egg blue with green undertones feels very French to me, and it can be tricky finding a duck egg color so this is quite a find.

If you love Pottery Barn’s Mineral Blue linen bedding, here’s one more reason to give it a whirl. Brit Jones used it so elegantly in this romantic winning parade home bedroom!

We toured this bedroom in a separate post, and the carved wood Regina Andrew chandelier is a showstopper.
Pale Pink Colors
Pink is often associated with femininity, tenderness, and romance. Pale pink, in particular, can evoke feelings of warmth, nurturing, and compassion. Pastel pinks are often used to create a soft and welcoming environment.

The architecture in this little girl’s bedroom takes my breath away…isn’t it stunning? Most of the bedding hails from POTTERY BARN here.

3 Ideas for a Romantic Accent Table in the Bath
I never met an antiqued silver little side table I didn’t love…isn’t this first contender perfectly slim and lovely to have near a tub or shower?

Crazy about the Bixen Wall Sconce chosen for this bath, and it reminds me of a couple of other wallchiere options in the same spirit including one from AERIN here and also this friendly-priced sconce.

Lavender & Soft Pastel Yellows
Lavender combines the calming effects of blue with the warmth of pink. It’s often associated with spirituality, intuition, and relaxation. Lavender pastels can create a serene and peaceful atmosphere, conducive to meditation or deep relaxation.

Soft yellow is linked with happiness, optimism, and energy. Soft pastel yellows can evoke feelings of warmth, cheerfulness, and positivity.

Yellows can help to uplift mood and create a sense of joyfulness.
