We previously explored all things wondrous and whimsical in the world of Holly Irwin HERE, and today is a peek into the homes and show houses where her artistry lives. Collecting her fine art is joyous as you will see, and you already know how utterly gratifying it is to live with original works. (Although if ever she offers prints, snap those up too!). Since I know there will be inquiries, I’m also sharing a few paint colors you’ll see here.

Collected Works in My Home
Her fashionable ladies look chic anywhere, and my only challenge is deciding where to enjoy them!
The artist in the studio:
I am still getting used to living with warmer, moodier tones in the bedrooms here (it’s SW Agreeable Gray below) after living with bright crisp cool whites for so many years. But I do love the contrast with white.
Irwin’s figures are graceful, elegant and understated, and they suggest a timelessness I am ever seeking to evoke in the spaces where we live. This space is a guest bedroom, and isn’t the handwoven chunky knit throw amazing? My sister Jo creates them.
Here’s another lovely lady (a sweet stationery card from a set) I placed in a vintage frame upon a fireplace mantel. I recently painted this fireplace and spruced up this bedroom which needed cozying:
A Favorite Painting
My floral painting on paper by Holly Irwin has moved with us and spent time in various rooms according to my whims.
When we had a vacation home in Arizona, it traveled there too! (I’m not the type to hang art and leave it alone forever – our spaces are ever evolving.)
Psst. Here’s the color I painted my piano (it is from my early childhood), and I highly recommend this color for pieces where you want to preserve a vintage look.
The painting with its everlasting blooms is far better than fresh flowers which fade so quickly!
Just now, I love enjoying it at the piano where I compose melodies for my poetry.
In fact, it kept me company as I set to music an important poem written in 2009 when a breakdown led to a breakthrough.
Sometimes I think I understand a sliver of the the mysterious healing properties of beauty, of art, but mostly I don’t know a thing. I only want to stand in its path as a faithful vessel.

Holly Irwin Paintings in Beautiful Settings
French Country Romance
This image is such an inspiring favorite as the aesthetic captures so many softly feminine romantic French-inspired elements I adore…
Isn’t it warm and wonderful?
But cool and chic contexts are also just right for her work!
Chic Showhouse in Situ
Oh this transcendent laundry room in an Atlanta Holiday Home showhouse!
If that beautiful greyish teal color is calling, it reminds me of Benjamin Moore Van Courtland Blue.
And that artful window covering is Windy O’Connor’s BIRDS OF A FEATHER in aqua:
So unforgettable! Even the Visual Comfort ceiling light I recognize in this utility space is beyond luxurious and ooh la la in polished nickel. (See it HERE.)
How I wanted to visit this Serenbe Showhouse in person back in 2018!
Perfectly Posh Powder Rooms & Baths
Get ready for va va voooooooooom!
Right?
Just so sensual and richly sumptuous for a place to touch up lipstick. This wall color reminds me of the color I shared above from our music room, entry, and a few other spaces in our home–Sherwin-Williams Repose Gray.
Truly unforgettable settings where blush and greige rendezvous…
Eclectic Interiors Graced With Holly Irwins
What a breathtaking glimpse of a serenely lovely kitchen and family room:
The paint color you see here is quite similar to the off white called Sherwin-Williams Eider White in my own kitchen:
But since Holly is never afraid of color…is saturated color, raspberry or magenta calling your name?
That energizing juicy color on the built-ins reminds me of this paint color:
The possibilities truly are GLORIOUS and also
where Irwin is involved…GLAMOROUS.
Have you been taking mental notes of how creatively various designers display artwork?
They give us permission to feel a bit more free about where and how we display these treasures.
I can almost hear the rant of my FB followers now YOU CAN’T DISPLAY THAT ORIGINAL PAINTING NEAR THE RANGE WITH POTS OF MARINARA BUBBLIN’…
Leveraging the Role of the Artist
But the thing is, we are allowed to live with art as we wish.
And it truly is the spice of life to enjoy decoration and objects as we please.
Our time here is so brief, and life is such a gift we mostly take for granted.
Which is why we so need the artist, the poet, and the contemplative.
There is this whole realm beyond words–beautiful forms and marks that speak to hidden places within us.
Aren’t we all aching for such dignity and civility?
It’s not a small thing that so much of Holly Irwin’s work awakens such longing for dignity.
So different from the elegance of fashionable glamour, dignity points to honorable worthiness that is so often absent from discourse during tumultuous times of disconnection and dehumanization.
What is art teaching you right where you are? I am marinating in questions and ideas about anger, pain, and the difficulty to transform them. What a blessing that artists can inspire and nudge us toward new understanding of the ineffable.
Thank you for being here and reading with such tenderness. If you have a moment, do view more of Holly Irwin’s work HERE.
Peace to you right where you are.
