Is it soothing natural lifegiving tones to promote peacefulness that call to you? These earthy organic green paint color options provide beautiful possibilities for timeless color. Around the new year, we always seem to see edgy, envelope-pushing colors introduced in trendy roundups (just like changing fashion strutting down the catwalk). So even before we see what will be the rage in 2024, let’s honor a few sage, olive, and deep green contenders that are not likely to ever fall from favor.
Organic Green Paint Color Ideas to Discover
I independently selected products in this post—if you buy from one of my links, I may earn a commission.
Sherwin-Williams Rosemary 6187
Soothe your senses with this deep, organic green.
With its cool gray undertone, it’s a gorgeously fresh color for cabinets and wood furniture.
The LRV (light reflectance value) of Rosemary is 14. That simply means it will reflect 14% of light back (the brightest white would have a light reflectance value in the 90s).
Finding Lovely showed us just how chic and neutral Rosemary can live when it is mixed at 50% as she did for a son’s beautiful bedroom.
And don’t you feel grateful that folks take the time to take these close-ups to truly capture a green like this?
Benjamin Moore Quiet Moments 1563
Quiet Moments is such a gorgeous light sage-blue-grey that an entire post was devoted to it HERE. Its light reflectance value (LRV) is 60.73 so it is a whole lot lighter than Rosemary above.
A gentle mix of blue, green and gray results in a color that exudes tranquility and inspires quiet meditation. It truly is a tranquil color for a bedroom…
But isn’t it also wonderful on trim or a door?
If you’re toying with the idea of living with an earthy or organic green paint color, maybe start in a small way. Do you have a bathroom vanity that has seen better days and could use a coat of paint?
Or what about cabinets in a utility room? Sometimes it is helpful to live with a color in a safe way (a room you may not spend much time in like a powder room).
Organic Green Paint Color Idea: Benjamin Moore Sage Wisdom
A profound green-one that knows that a softly spoken statement can often be the most powerful. LRV is 43.98 so it won’t reflect as much light as Quiet Moments.
Sherwin-Williams Acacia Haze
This medium green with strong slate blue undertones provides a cool, lazy Sunday vibe with a touch of sophistication. LRV (light reflectance value) is 32.
Here it is on an exterior:
Do you recall the video of this home tour of an April Tomlin-designed house?
She used this organic green so boldly (and beautifully!).
Isn’t it inspiring with the gorgeous millwork?

So many designs feature boarded walls these days (that’s what Rita Konig calls them…I took her interior design course HERE).
Sherwin-Williams Retreat 6207
This muted green with blue-gray undertones will fill your space with the fresh feeling of mountain air.
An uplifting shade for bedrooms and kitchen cabinets. LRV (light reflectance value) is 21.
Would you tire of it in a kitchen?
Curious about trending paint colors?
We’re all about timeless paint colors here, but some colors trend without feeling trendy. I mean, who has time to be re-painting rooms as new color crushes emerge from fashion runways or TikTok? We also looked at trending colors RIGHT HERE.
I can’t help but notice that while tranquil, these sage and olive earthy colors are also the type of sophisticated tones that aren’t easy to name. Can’t quite pigeonhole the color? That color is probably a friend of mine.
Need a Creamy White With These Green Colors?
SW Alabaster
By now, you know this tried and true creamy white used often by interior designers everywhere.
Why Sample Paint Colors First?
Definitely sample colors first. And then maybe try a gallon rather than a bunch of gallons all at once. A perfect example of a mistake is how I thought Alabaster would work well in the entry of our current home since my favorite bright whites were too cold. We brought home a 5 gallon container, and OOPS! Too yellow for that space and a costly mistake.
Psst. Easiest way to see if a color is right? Order samples with Samplize and have them delivered straight to your door.
How are you holding up? If you’re new, you may not know I love sharing inspiration for both literal and figurative “interiors” So find plenty of pinnable quotes in posts here.

So grateful to have you here as we inch closer to 2024! If the holidays have not been gentle thus far, bless you. You’re getting closer to the post-holiday horizon.
Peace to you right where you are.
