A couple of years ago, this spec home in Texas with interior design by Brittany Jones captured my imagination. I tucked this inspiring project away because there were so many beautiful light fixtures represented throughout it. Now that I’m shopping for my own lighting, Romantic Modern French Lighting Inspiration & Interiors is here to guide both you and me.
I independently selected products in this post—if you buy from one of my links, I may earn a commission.

Romantic Modern French Lighting, Interiors & Paint Colors
Here is the exterior of the home with its warm neutrals, dark trim, and bright French blue accents.
In case you want to get right to the good stuff, here is an inspired lighting collection I assembled. Each fixture would be right at home in an elegant modern French style interior. However, they are classic enough to elevate ANY style where you’re going for a timeless feel.
Modern French Kitchen & Bath Lighting
The lantern wall sconce in the kitchen adds a sense of rusticity and ease in this kitchen which while luxurious, is not too fussy or fancy.
In an elegant bath, I instantly recognized the Paris Flea Market chandelier (reflected in the mirror) paired with Suzanne Kasler’s Camille Sconce. One of the things I love about this kitchen and the marble chosen is how it is appetizing. Appetizing? Yes! Makes me hungry so I best grab one of THESE to keep going! (They truly satisfy and provide a healthy boost!)
Not sure Elk Lighting is still offering the brass lighting in this bath, but I found gorgeous coastal style sconces here.
Paint Colors in This Country French Home
Love the dark blue on the vanity above? It’s HALE NAVY by Benjamin Moore.
The neutral warm white is Alabaster (SW), and you can find additional warm whites in THIS.
Bedroom With Modern French Style
So many of the lighting fixtures spotlighted here are pricey, yet this chandelier in the romantic bedroom is from Quorum (La Maison chandelier) and moderately priced.
Good gracious, how many years have I been crushing on this Boheme Bed from Hooker Furniture? That tufted headboard looks so comfy, and the unfussy deconstructed style is easy to love.
The muted area rug from Loloi (Vincent Collection) adds a layer of luxury.
Can you imagine having a statement wall in the bedroom covered in gorgeous stone? I suppose it is much less effort to snag the stunning upholstered bench in that sitting area.
Home Offices With Wood Accented Ceiling
If you’re a fan of shaded chandelier, you may love THIS ONE.
While I’m unsure of the exact table lamps in the office, I love THIS ONE and Aidan Gray options like this one:
Another space in the home for work or study is the laundry/mud room. The paint color on the cabinetry?
Here are a couple more paint color ideas if you’re seeking pastels for a romantic look:
Dramatic Lighting in French Country Great Room
For a similar effect with a Persian white finish, try THIS CHANDELIER.
And you can never go wrong with this Regina Andrew Antique Carved Wood light:
French Country Wall Sconces
For a lot less moolah than you might imagine, these double wall sconces are neutral yet dramatic, and designer Brittany Jones used them so beautifully here:
I’m in love with that mirror too!
Isn’t the staircase and landing amazing?
Soft Color Palette Throughout Modern French Home
Curious about the warm white paint color used in this new build?
It’s Sherwin-Williams Alabaster.
This beautiful color plays a starring role in another project from this interior designer:
I recognize some of the bedding which can be found at Pottery Barn.
If you have a moment, don’t miss this tour of another spec house. This is designer Windsor Smith’s renovated home – of course I was interested since when she bought it, it was a 1990s spec house that needed lots of changes and pretty!
Peace to you right where you are.
