It’s so funny that your post today is all about French Country Farmhouse. I have a friend visiting from out of town who is in the process of building a French Country Farmhouse. She wanted to give it a less fussy, more modern flare and we were going over ideas for it over coffee this morning when up popped your post. Thanks for lots of fine inspiration.
Ooooh, I love it when the timing is lovely! Sounds like a conversation I would thoroughly enjoy. Now I’m off to feast on your beautiful blog! Hugs to you. 🙂

Enjoyed this post so much especially the videos…thanks. I
I hear you. (and it’s so wonderful to hear from you, Colleen – I delight in seeing images of your beautiful new pieces and thought of you as we traveled through Tennessee last week!) It does cost a pretty penny to achieve such a high level of authenticity and provenance. I think I look at projects with a skewed sort of perspective less consumed with ‘need to acquire’ as it is with ‘wondrous admiring and creative stirrings to continue the spirit of the beauty.’ Does that make sense? I notice how a chalky finish works magic in a way that new, sleek, and glossy never could. I am moved by rich color and texture combinations and the magic of quiet understated strokes of genius. I’m a student of how scale evokes emotion and infuses wonder and humor into a space. While the budget of a given design project may be at a fantasy level, imagination (and content on this blog!) is still completely free and infinite!

🙂 I hear you – that repetitive phrase is there for SEO purposes so the post will show up in google searches. Blogging now is not what it was in 2010, and I apologize for the annoyances.
Always lovely to wake up in the morning to see your beautiful posts. Takes my mind off my troubles to a visually beautiful world.

I’m so happy to hear that – we all need daily rituals to take us out of our minds and into our hearts. 🙂

So happy to have you here and so glad you love these sources as I do! Peace to you.
Absolutely love all the reclaimed materials worked into refreshed interiors. Just wish the cost was not so outrageous. Great post, as usual.

I need to become more familiar with interiors in Mexico – I have never traveled there! Thanks so much for visiting.
Please stop with the ‘certainly…indeed’. Enough is enough.
