I meant to blog about Reese Witherspoon’s house in Home Again movie back when I saw it months ago! Did you see this movie? Reese’s character is a budding interior designer which explains the lovely decor in her house.
Written and directed by director Nancy Meyers’ daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer, “Home Again” does just what “Something’s Gotta Give,” “It’s Complicated,” and “The Holiday” have done to us interior design freaks! We want to pause, rewind, and pause again to get a better look at the interiors!
The movie was shot in a 1929 Spanish-style hacienda in Brentwood, and the interiors were designed by Ellen Brill (production designer) and set decorator, Nicole Cates. Let’s have fun touring the house from “Home Again” and consider options for getting a similar look. Oh, and one more thing, did you know Reese wrote a book being a Southern woman? Yep.

Reese Witherspoon’s House in Home Again Movie
Reese Witherspoon’s grandmother Dorothea always said that a combination of beauty and strength made southern women “whiskey in a teacup.” We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside we’re strong and fiery.

I love all the natural finishes–the wood, the rattan, the linen.

I’d like to see this place without all the orange and color pops since it’s all those neutrals underneath I’m drawn to!
What a happy vibe in this place! Very California. I love the oranges and reds and the textures and fun artwork. And the exterior is fabulous. Happy Monday!
