Gentle afternoons with mild temperatures and warm breezes are so cherished here in the middlelands. Leaves are turning. Apple picking begins. Honeycrisp, Autumn Beauty or Blondees? Caramel eating…everyday. Gourds and bumpy pumpkins rest on our counter with a pineapple (a staple in my diet!) and Granny Smiths. Fragrant banana muffins studded with bitter chocolate bake in the oven. Thank goodness for Octobers in the heartland. Even with assorted personal cares sending me to my knees, even with the emergence and growth of artificial everything into daily life, it feels wholesome and natural to become a nature mystic in the Fall. It’s the right time for love, letting go, and transformation. Glimmers of AUTUMN light is here for those receptive to its shadow dance with interiors, with the senses.

Glimmers of Autumn Light: Inspiration
Changes in Autumn Light
Watching the light change throughout the day is a bonus of working from home for which I am deeply grateful.

The sunlight filtering through the changing leaves of trees (komorebi) at our house right now is giving me life.

And when the sun sets? Firelight in autumn will do.
Fall Feels from Creative Inspiration
Earthy colors, nostalgia, cozy textures, and quieter lighting lend themseves to the romance of autumn.

Should you be shopping for a tapestry…

While I don’t have a tapestry to display, those colors above speak to me.

Here’s a farmhouse tour worth revisiting in Pennsylvania:
Can you even imagine having your very own barn for entertaining?

Warm Autumn Palettes to Inspire

A change of seasons is the perfect time to set intentions. What will you give yourself to this autumn? How will your life feel in the coming weeks before winter?

I am grateful to be on a spiritual journey in pursuit of God, not another self-improvement or self-care program.

This time last year I was working daily on embodiment practices and with new tools to improve the communication between my nervous system and body. The vagus nerve (rest and digest) is somethin’ else!

Now I find interest in seeing reality and recognizing illusion. There’s a whole lotta meditation, grace, and prayer happening in our house at the moment.

Do you ever read my reflections and wonder does girlfriend ever get enough rest and relaxation; is Ms. High Achiever preoccupied with process and striving? Busted.

This journey is our own, and I see conversion as a very slow (but hardly restful!) process of a lifetime.
I’m no longer concerned about making the process or journey look good or enjoyable.

I’m not trying to save your soul. As I move further from poor attitudes, weak theology, and unhealthy behaviors keeping me from congruence, I inch closer to God and my soul’s integrity.

Is this journey to congruence, integration, and unity any less extraordinary than space travel to the moon where time and light are relative?

There are endless mysteries within mysteries with a vast history of life, death, and resurrection always happening.

Interior Season

Let’s continue this autumn light roundup in the next installment.
Peace to you right where you are.
