Actionable Timeless Decorating Ideas: The Fox Group
Timeless Decorating Idea #1: Curb Appeal
I encourage you to expand the image above to see how beautifully simple a boxwood wreath with trailing ribbon can be against a grey painted front door.

I also love the blue and white porcelain planters, and one of my favorite options is right HERE, while lantern pendant lighting finds are HERE.

Paint Color for Front Door
It looks as though it could very well be BENJAMIN MOORE Galveston Gray, which The Fox Group uses in multiple projects.
Timeless Decorating Idea #2: Wainscoting
The Fox Group is known for its amazing millwork, wainscoting and wood paneling throughout this home. It imparts such a timelessly established mood suggestive of traditional style, richness, and textured elegance.

Need an idea for an elegant (palatial really!) silvery gray with blue-aqua undertones for your own project?
Blue-Grey Paint Color Ideas
The tricky part about choosing a tone such as this? You truly must look to gray AND blue swatches. BM Smoke 2122-40 is the first contender I would sample
But you’ll definitely want to sample a handful even if the color swatches seem extremely similar. You may be able to tell, for example, that BM Beacon Gray 2128-60 is cooler and lighter:
Yet you won’t know how any of these colors will convey in your unique home with its unique exposure. BM Blue Springs 1592 may actually read blue in your room despite the fact that it looks like a truer gray here:
When painted out in such an ethereal and billowy tone rather than stained brown, the panels feel wedding cake-like, romantic, and anything but a stuffy masculine library.

(Did someone say cake?)

Should budget for costly wainscoting and millwork is limited, you can still bring classic style to the walls. Here’s a pretty possibility:

Timeless Design #3: White Brick, Cedar & Copper
What do you think about the fabulous contrast of copper against white brick? The lush greenery of the landscape also works magically with copper and white exterior since red and green are such good friends.

Timeless Decorating Ideas #4: Classic White Kitchen
Have you ever seen a fantasy kitchen design quite like the one in this renovated Tudor home by The Fox Group?

From photos of the exterior of the home, I noted the home has a main middle section and two wings.

The kitchen occupies one of the wings, and notice (above) how the right wing’s upper story windows are the kitchen windows you see below!

Wow! While my kitchen doesn’t resemble this timeless bespoke beauty, I also chose Darlana lantern pendants by Visual Comfort for my island. What’s helpful is that this Darlana style comes in different sizes. Mine are the smallest version:

Many of the sconces, lamps, pendants, and chandeliers in builds by this firm are found HERE. A few favs…

BM Simply White Paint Color in Kitchen
It appears to be BENJAMIN MOORE Simply White.

Timeless European Inspired Seating
The gorgeous Riviera Rattan counter stools are from Serena & Lily. The whole Riviera collection is incredible, and I also love the side chairs:

Serena & Lily says each chair is a story and “a celebration of its inherent character. Inspired by the iconic silhouette of the Parisian bistro seats, every rattan frame is bent and shaped by hand. Each bears marks of distinction — from harvest, an artisan touch, and nature’s material maturing in time.”

Here’s a different style chair should your kitchen, breakfast nook, or dining area need a bit of textured comfort.

Are you questioning whether these bistro style Parisian chairs and stools are trendy or timeless?

The things is, there are simply pockets of time when traditional is style simply is “in” and trending. Marketers influence such trends since it benefits them to keep changing it up so we keep buying. But timeless choices won’t feel silly in a few years. Classic and imbued with a reverence for the past means they have already proven themselves with little need to reinvent.
Timeless Decorating Idea #5: Classic Blue Powder Room
Is there anything as classic and American traditional as a blue and white wallpapered powder bath with blue trim and console sink? If you love coastal style, I bet you are pinning away! We don’t often see wood consoles quite like this one.

I spotted this coastal-pretty blue and white wallpaper pattern with a calm, breezy, fresh feel for a similar look.
Timeless Decorating Idea #6: Custom Built-ins
If you have explored the work of The Fox Group, then you know. Famous for their incredible craftsmanship as well as impeccable attention to every elegant detail. Notice how the richly dark grey hue on panels and built-ins works with all the brass hardware and accents.

Expand the photo above to see the door hardware which may win you over since it is so lovely!
My eye went straight to the mantel clock (above) on the shelf since I’m in the market for one. Here are possibilities to consider.
Benjamin Moore CHEATING HEART 1617
A good guess for the paint color on the above millwork?
Benjamin Moore Cheating Heart 1617 since this firm has uses Benjamin Moore and this particular color repeatedly. (Remember post-editing and lighting issues make it tricky to judge paint colors so it’s best to sample a handful to get the precise look you’re after.)
So here’s another possibility from the Sherwin-Williams line:
You can see some cool blue undertones coming through, and I have noticed The Fox Group loves them some blue!

Can you EVEN get over all of the charm and architectural interest in a single room? Oh the glorious craftsmanship, carpentry, and built-ins from The Fox Group!

Timeless Decorating Idea #7: Tranquil Color Palette
The owner of this incredible renovated Tudor-style beauty admires blues and greys as I do! For me, the whole interior paint color story within the home suggests water and celestial skies.

Would you, could you, create a celestial aquatic envelope with a color straight out of a palace? Scroll up for ideas for a similar (or who knows, maybe it’s the exact color) hue.
Design Idea #8: Natural Stone Palatial Bath
This luxurious Calacatta marble bathroom with white cabinets and antique brass hardware will surely stand the test of time with its traditional appeal and neutral palette.

A marble mosaic tile is taken to the ceiling in the vanity area. Just look at all of that floor to ceiling storage! Aren’t the glass fronted cabinet doors refreshing? They add a reflective, airy layer to the already brilliant white design.

The herringbone pattern of the calacatta floor tile also feels classic, luxe, and somehow fresh even though it is a nod to tradition. (And how many of us would ever think to work French doors to the outside into our bath’s design?)

If you’re considering a calacatta marble, you could also peek at calacatta gold for a warmer white look. I love living with the warmth and natural variation of calacatta gold marble. We used it in dramatic fashion for a statement wall in our Arizona vacation home kitchen and recently used it in our Georgian kitchen renovation:

Antique Brass With White & Cool Greys
In addition to the crisp whites in this bath, I admire all of the muted, natural, and warm greys, creams, and tan colors in the stone. The coolness overall feels balanced by the refined nature of antique brass fixtures such as the Hulton Sconces.

If you have yet to discover hand-rubbed antique brass…oh la la. I love living with my sconces with this finish. This sconce in particular? “Blending traditional and modern elements, the Hulton by Thomas O’Brien represents effortless elegance. Slender, gracefully curved brass arms are accented by crystal detailing. The silhouettes are more classic when styled with the shades or take on a mod look without them.”
Timeless Design #9: Ethereal Bedroom
How could you ever leave this bedroom even when tempted by a grand palatial hotel’s guestrooms? Here’s a timeless space in which I could move right in and not change a thing! Soft blue drapes, neutrals, sumptuous velvet, and plenty of enveloping white.

Discover some of the finest timeless options for white quilted bedding HERE as well as HERE. Also discover a pretty muted tone area rug HERE.

There’s so much more to discuss about timeless decorating ideas, Tudor architecture, and ideas for ageless designs so we’ll continue the discussion in Part 2 very soon!
Peace to you right where you are.
