I know, I know. Tis the season to fill rooms with colorful festive things, but when all the red and green hits the aisles, Christmas kittens, I’m ready for a “palette” cleanse! This is one of those properties where I instantly felt a connection and thought, YEP, I can move in with m’toothbrush. Granted, it appears staged for sale with minimal personal items and clutter revealing signs of life. Ethereal white minimal modern French details from the interiors illustrate what’s possible with a full embrace of pale neutrals. We’ve peeked at these images before, but today, we’re peering closer to explore the textures and foundation of pretty rooms that feel feather light.

Ethereal White Minimal Modern French
This beautiful home which was on the market when these photos were shared, was built in 2008 (Southampton Homes) and is located in Houston’s Museum District. I could get used to its sunny interiors as well as the European-style private courtyard.
White Living & Dining Room
Are you noticing what is not in these rooms? Without window trim and coverings on the windows, the space feels fresher and modern. Would that get old living there? Maybe.
Another thing missing? POPS of bright color. Instead, muted tones accent the sea of white such as the velvet pillows upon the settee.
You can’t miss the curves from wall decor, chairs, and shuttered arched doors.
It always helps to notice the shapes throughout a space. Too many angles and linear shapes can feel not quite right yet calm down when circular objects are integrated.
Delicate French Staircase in a White Minimal Modern Home
Another example of softening with shapely curves?
I just love the curves of the staircase! It’s not something that is easily added AFTER the fact so what a gift when it’s original.
Curved and barrel ceilings are fantasy land to this peasant, but what an architectural wonder they are!
And are you loving the arched patio doors?
Texture becomes so important with white color schemes. Here, a jute rug mixes with rugged wood, green velvet, terracotta, and gold.
All White French Kitchen
In case you fancy a stunning white kitchen and white marble bathrooms…et boum! (Merci, Taste of France, for teaching me that Frenchie nugget.).
Obviously this home is in a staged state, but it’s easy to see how just a few plants and some dishware would be enough with such a gorgeous backdrop.
I’m also noticing the mix of whites since it isn’t a single shade.
White marble has all sorts of other tones from veining and age, and there’s no reason to try to be matchy with cabinetry or fixtures.
In fact, it is those subtle contrasts that charm me most when it comes to living with whites.
Crisp cool whites with creamy warm ones along with faded tans and bleached oak…yum.
Too much white for your taste?
If you have a moment, peek at another home I fell in love with (this one in Atlanta) with an altogether different style. It’s traditional, classic, and styled beautifully with patterns and color.
