What kind of wood flooring is it?
Our floors are 5″ white oak planks (a medium amount of character) with no stain, finished on site with just a matte sealer.
Where did you buy your dining chairs and tables?
The white farm table and bench in the breakfast area are custom made from reclaimed antique barn wood. The metal chairs are HERE.
Our round planked top dining room table is a cast-off from my sister. The Belgian linen slipcovered dining chairs (Belgian slope arm chairs) and oval backed Louis style chairs are all from RH.

Where did you find the shelving unit?
The industrial etagere in the dining room is from RH, made from reclaimed wood and iron.
The lantern pendant is actually an exterior lantern from Home Depot.
Your favorite cleaning supplies?
I like the Meyer Lemon Essential Oils Collection and have used these products for decades.
What is the kitchen backsplash material?
It is polished venatino marble mosaic tile RIGHT HERE from Allen + Roth at Lowe’s.
My antiqued salt and pepper shakers are a favorite!
What are the details of your serene bedroom?
The master bedroom has a statement wall with reclaimed white painted pine (a peel and stick product called Stikwood “Hamptons” RIGHT HERE, cottage style furniture I hand-glazed with a wash of BENJAMIN MOORE Revere Pewter, pillows are vintage RH, Parisian Iron Gate lamps (RH) and custom white oak hardwood flooring. I placed two marble-topped 30″ vanities in the bathroom. Find a selection of globe pendant lights HERE.

Secret #1: Even though I still flirt with the idea of selling this house, I’m tempted to hold on to it forever. Watching the seasons change in the woods here and enjoying the wildlife are hard to beat!
Name of your French kitchen chandelier?
It’s vintage, the finish is antiqued silver or pewter, and I have had it for years so I don’t remember the name of it! I am including some options in the same spirit.
*We pause briefly for a giggle*

Where do I find a similar bathroom console sink?
Ours is a DXV Oak Hill console sink, and you can find options HERE. The wallpaper is Thibaut “Lizette.”

Name of White Paint on Walls, Ceiling & Trim?
Benjamin Moore WHITE…it’s the pure white they use to mix other colors and has no undertones in it. You can get the same look with BEHR Ultra Pure White on the shelf.
Do you like your Fireclay Kitchen Farm Sink?
I love it so much that I cannot imagine ever going back to stainless.

The Belgian linen upholstered stools are from RH, and the dark wood admittedly worked better in our former kitchen.

Knotty Alder Interior Doors
Our knotty alder interior doors add so much character and warmth, and there are a few different places to shop for them including Wayfair here (and yep, that is my very own bedroom in the photo on Wayfair!) and Home Depot.

Secret No. 2: I love our alder doors so much that I don’t know how I am going to leave them behind when we move someday! They are so charming and give this home a much needed identity.

Sometimes I I have my small round dining table in the kitchen, and other times I move in the big farm table. Belgian slope arm chairs are from RH, and I have included other options as well below.

I sure do – read this to see why.
Secret No. 3: I struggled with choosing a white quartz and can’t even tell you how many samples were brought home. What a blessing when my sister’s Minuet counters were installed making it possible to see a large expanse of the material! Sometimes it’s all about perfect timing!

Secret No. 4: While we don’t eat in our dining room often, I use this space for reading and occasional blogging. A space traditionally called a ‘formal dining room’ can become just about anything you desire!

Hey! We are painting the exterior of our 2400 sq ft home today (during the quarantine) and I want farm house French provincial. I need the perfect white-it needs to have cream undertones as I have a milk chocolate/tan roof. but I want to buy it from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Can you help with a color?

Exciting! I would try Sherwin Williams Alabaster (Lowe’s or Home Depot can get the color from the computer and mix it). I think the natural sunlight will naturally give you the yellow cast you’re after so you don’t have to go too yellow with the choice of white. Let me know how it goes!
My heart skipped a beat when you shared your last secret because I was hoping it said, “ I’m looking for a small cottage to fix up to write blog posts about & if you have one and are interested in my services, please contact me!” Of course there is only one tiny caveat, I have no money to pay you! I do have lots of cool antique/vintage finds that may make the job easier though.

I would love that, Amy. I hate to complain about the cold weather and accumulation of snow since the season brings all sorts of beauty and balance and magic. The grey days can be dismal though, and when I go too long without Mr. Sun, my spirits sink. What I am seeking to do as I mature is allow each day to be what it is and not more. Sounds so simple but I make it difficult!!! I’m either trying to re-wind or fast-forward when all of the fruit is in “play.” xox
Grey days can do that to all of us…amazing how much sunny days just make us feel better! But I get what you’re saying about being content no matter what! Have you every heard of Elizabeth Elliott? I remember her sharing once about contentment and the first thing she said was …”don’t complain about anything, not even the weather!” Ha! Lots of good truth in that simple statement!

Thanks so much! Some of the abstract paintings are by me (the small pieces in kitchen and large painting in bedroom with mural), and two are by artist Melissa James (end of hall and outside of laundry room near kitchen). I plan to begin painting again when we move since the light is so beautiful there. Peace to you.
