While this blog is heavier with interiors inspiration than over-50 beauty & lifestyle, I can never go very long without sharing exceptional sources. Jenni Kayne is one of my all-time favorites for lovely pieces for home, skin, and wardrobe. C’mon now, that is quite the trifecta! Have you tried her Oak Essentials skincare or a sweater? What’s all the fuss? Jenni Kayne’s aesthetic reflects minimal Belgian Modern style, airy Scandinavian simplicity, and California livable organic luxe. There’s a timelessness and a decidedly lovely restraint with her choices for beauty, lifestyle, fashion, and home decor. The sales and complimentary gift promotions make NOW the perfect time to sample the value for yourself!
Jenni Kayne: Hello, Loveliness
Even though I’m calling these “cold weather comforts,” they soothe in any season!
I just ordered more Oak Essentials skincare because my containers are nearly empty, and the promotional gift (shearling slide sandals) is top notch! You know you have found the right products when you’re fearful you may run out and the product could easily sell out (it does!).
New to Jenni Kayne? Natural materials, neutral color stories, and understated luxury are key to this curated look.
First, get a feel for Jenni Kayne’s airy, effortless, natural, pared-down, timeless, California-inspired look:
Considered trying any of Jenni’s skincare (Oak Essentials)? Never a better time! USE Hello Lovely’s CODE to get $25 off!
BUT WHAT SHOULD YOU START WITH FROM THE LINE? This mini Routine is a great way to sample a variety of skincare essentials (and if you use the $25 off discount code, the price turns friendly).
I have the mini routine because it is perfect for travel. I’m always relieved when I am away from home that my tried and true comforting products are with me. It’s hard to pick a favorite product since they all do an incredible job and deliver what they say they will.
The cleansing balm? THE best one I have tried, and I will never stop buying it. (And this from an avid DIYer who wonders if she can create something comparable at home with coconut oil and a few soothing oils ordered from Amazon…um, nope.) Quality is quality is quality.
Also crazy about her candles – I have Cedar and Topanga.
Now that Oak Essentials offers products for body, my shower is stocked with those, and you can see them in this post about creating an at-home spa. Another recent discovery for me to make your bath more spa-like? See this.
Jenni Kayne Home Inspiration
This designer encourages us to live with less, but better.
So often we want our rooms to be complete in a day and to somehow appear evolved, rich and luxurious.
She recommends starting with the sofa, which is always a big investment piece.
I love how Jenni Kayne uses texture for color – some of us grow bored quickly with color.
We’re all so different! I wouldn’t get bored with these tranquil color stories that encourage rest and decompression.
While my bath does not resemble this one in any stretch of the imagination…
there are still plenty of takeaways. I’m noticing the simplicity and warmth of the tub’s shelf, how I could create a similar piece of art, and even the atmospheric subtle texture of plaster (or limewash) on the wall.
I’m also noticing how much I enjoy natural, raw, bleached, and cerused wood floors and accents. While this side table above is rustic, it still feels luxurious.
Natural Materials, Neutral Colors & Pared-Down Sophistication
In the kitchen above, I’m noticing how the vertical wood planks on wall and ceiling seem to bring the ceiling down. So often, we see designers emphasizing the height of rooms, and there’s something cozy that is born when the objective is to feel closer to the earth.
Seeing her fabrics up close just makes me want to touch them!
This moment above reminds me of Jenni Kayne’s beautiful books:
If you love the looks you see here, you will adore PACIFIC NATURAL AT HOME (see a recent spotlight of it here) which demystifies this California cool approach to interiors.
Do you have to be a minimalist to enjoy this aesthetic?
It appeals to me as a minimalist-wannabe. I can’t tolerate clutter so I clear it all the time, but the excess tends to clutter up our basement storage! Hahahaha.
If you love the quality of Jenni Kayne clothing and home decor, then you know she would never launch a skin care line without thoroughly making sure it is top notch.

Psst. I told you about my muslin robe HERE. Oh, and just in case you need gift ideas…
Peace to you right where you are.
