Painting anything white never fails to bring me pleasure, never gets old, and always reminds me of the power of white in any season. So let’s have a celebration of my favorite color (don’t you dare claim it’s not a color…it contains ALL of the colors, doncha know). We will blissfully explore and get lost in Calm White Country Interiors: 50 Lovelies & How to Steal the Look. (Many spaces are French inspired, others coastal or rustic in style, and most are a lovely mix.)

Inspiration From a White Coastal Cabin
This pale and interesting shabby chic “coastal cabin” as the owner calls it is such a charming example of a no-fuss vacation getaway and easy to love country style.

Atlanta Bartlett & Dave Coote renovated this 1930’s rustic cottage with a pleasingly light touch. LIGHT is actually key to the design’s success since natural light bathes rooms in bright light, and the light color palette is restrained and quiet as well.

BRIGHT IDEA: If you’re after an effortless, less serious, imperfect look, play with the scale of design elements. To keep the look calm, use fewer objects and keep the color story quiet.

What a feast for the eyes! As we are nearing the completion of a huge cosmetic reno of our new -to-us house, all your posts are so inspiring! I’ll have this post book marked along with several others of yours 🙂
These rooms show that tone on tone is certainly NOT boring at all 😀 Frankly like you, the light bright interiors just resonate with me and I feel I can breathe!

Woohoo! Excited for you to wrap up this reno, and so happy to be a part of the journey, Connie. Peace to you this Sunday. 🙂
For my understanding …white isn’t white either in tone nor in style. Don’t like too much white in interior and I
prefer to mix it with old wood like shown in many pics above. But white in clothing …at any season. It’s
just a happy fresh “non”? color.
Dear Michel, hope your Thanksgiving was a lovely gathering of your three and next day you haven’t no stress with
the crazy Black Friday shopping. Have a calm and beautiful 1st Advent weekend. Hugs from yr Spanish follower.

Thanksgiving was quiet and gentle and different but sacred – hoping you are having a relaxing weekend in Spain. No crazy Black Friday business here – more focused on creative projects at home and healing my body – a long road ahead, but we can do hard things. xox
Yes, you will do it!!! Michele have you ever heard about Ayurveda? I had many experiences in the last
decades and it always was a huge success.
Google, it’s amazing what natural products can do.

Yes – thank you for reminding me. I have researched it and heeded some of the healing advice about regaining balance and enriching my diet. I love looking beyond Western medicine which often fails us. xox
I love scrolling through your posts Michele it’s truly eye candy for the creative’s soul. Thank you for reading my latest post and taking time to leave such a kind, meaty comment. So much to think about. I will read it many time, especially that last line before I respond. I feel like you understand.
Which is in itself all we can hope to be for each other. Thank you.

Yes. Thank you for stopping here with kindness and beauty. Do you suppose that at times we can become just the right shade of hope another soul desperately needs in their colorless season of despair? I’d like to think so and the direction I hope internet communication takes as it mysteriously evolves.
