When I posted this a year ago, I was looking for ideas to give our little laundry room pass through a boost. These thoughtfully designed spaces in Mud Room Design Ideas & Laundry Room Inspo were just the ticket. This post also offers humor quotes to pin (create a board like mine HERE!) and laundry room shopping resources. They may come in handy for anyone seeking to create a pleasant space to undo the grime of everyday living.

I love having you here, Jenny! Thank you for taking the time to read, laugh, and spread kindness – come back as often as you can!!!
I laughed SO hard at every single one of those little quips! But I must say the “don’t cut your bangs” one resonates far too much for me! Ugh! 😉
I truly needed all the giggles and beautiful photos today! Dull, cloudy days with rain in the forecast just say “Get your giggle on and get going!”
Yes..it’s laundry day at my house and yes, I have a gorgeous French-inspired laundry room thanks to my brother, sister in law & hubby helping me carry out my vision. They did the hard stuff. I came in with the pretty! It was a wonderful group effort that makes me happy every time I do laundry. Who knew the memories of the creation of the room is what continues brings so much joy? 😀

I love that you love your laundry room, Connie! My sis visited my laundry room to brainstorm with me and after a few minutes said, I had not realized how completely unpleasant and sterile this space is! And I felt joined as we exhausted possibilities and dreamed of a better looking and functioning room to launder in. If it’s a room you use every single day and pass through multiple times per day, it just makes sense to address it as a priority. And why we have ignored it for 4 years is beyond me! It’s a frog we should have swallowed straight away! Happy weekend, joyful one – thank you for your friendship and for sharing your expertise so graciously. We all benefit! xox
Your quotes made me laugh out loud! Loved the Uber one!

Your blog posts are so fun and frequent and inspiring. Keep up the beautiful work, and be well.

Thank you so much, Carol!!! Frequent is right, and I do like fun…how can we keep that spirit of liveliness streaming always with the loveliness — I aspire to dream of new ways. Happy weekend, friend. xox
So this post made me happy this morning. Why laundry rooms, a place of drudgery for many, is my happy place I have no idea. But I love Laundry Rooms, and Mud Rooms too! I’m working on the design for my next house and I got some nice ideas from this post. Thank you!

I’m so glad you totally get it, Celia – it’s so awesome having you on the journey, and since you’re a real life renovator, I love that you share the same passions. I cannot wait to see what you do, and if ever you invite me along to tour your next place, watch me show up and have fun oogling your laundry room and cooking delish with you! 🙂
Thank you for the quotes and the video. They both set a positive tone for my day!
Loved the laundry rooms, too!!

I’m so glad it brought smiles, Kathy. Thanks so much for your kind words and presence here. Happy weekend! 🙂
I feel your pain, my friend. My laundry room is also the entrance to the garage. I have to lock the door when
I iron or risk getting hit when hubby arrives unexpectedly.
I replaced my old appliances with front loaders on stands. The bottom of the washer holds cleaners and the dryer bottom holds footwear ( out of sight/out of mind). I had my husband install stock cabinets over top reaching to the ceiling which gives me extra storage. The one thing I can’t fit in is a sink between the washer/dryer. On the other wall, I hung pegs for outwear. I had a few old scrub boards that I hungover top. It’s not perfect but better than the original situation. Wallpaper might make it more cheery. Hmm
I drool over all the lovely, roomy laundry rooms I see on Pinterest. I’d buy a new house just for the laundry room but alas, I love my home. Looking forward to your reveal as it might give me some inspiration.
Great quotes today! I tried pinning them but no pin icon came up.

So you really get it! Yes – the dreaded threat of the garage door opening is a headache and just makes you think…wait, did the designer of this space ever do laundry a day in their life? Ha! I just haven’t been ready to try new appliances since I love my 4 year young ones. My washer is just like a front loader with a huge stainless tub (no center agitator) and a clear lid. It’s dreamy. There are things I want to rip right out of the wall – like the soffit and the vinyl cabinets, but we’re just not sure about demo, dust, and expense for this space so we’re deliberating. I definitely need hooks. For the closet, I’m thinking about removing the doors to see how I might like a nook rather than hidden storage. The question then becomes – do I use that nook for folding or make it pretty and mud room-ish with a bench (which I don’t need since there is a bench a few feet away in the hall). If I’m thinking resale, it’s a completely different plan! Thanks for the ideas and support. No idea what the pinterest snag is – that is annoying! It’s working fine for me so you may wanna try again. I use tailwind to pin and absolutely love it since there’s a little icon I click which brings up every single image on a page and gets the job done lickety split. Wish me luck on this awful room and bon weekend! xox
Great quotes and awesome mudrooms today Michele!! TGIF and have a great weekend! xoxo

Thanks so much, Holly! Enjoy and relax, girlfriend.
I took a screen shot of the 1998/ 2008/2019 quote and sent it along to my daughter. She gets it! I’ll try pinning again.
All I can say is that the closet is valuable real estate, Michele. Use wisely! 😉
I’m seriously thinking about adding a colourful wallpaper to that room. The rest of my house is neutrals but this calls for something “Wow!”.

It is – and I feel like have these competing thoughts about how to use it. There is the thought that I should use it to function for my specific needs, for what will look most pleasing as an entry (and friends’ entry!) to our home, for resale, and for images/decor potential for this blog. It would be easier if this was our forever house and I wasn’t a blogger! 🙂 I hope you can get to the bottom of the pinning thing – are you using chrome as your browser? Sometimes the browser is the culprit. And I love the idea of wallpaper and am still pondering that option too!
