MORE BEAUTIFUL All American Decor: Mark D. Sikes
After all, “American” is hardly sufficient as a singular description of interiors any more than it is of individuals who live here. So many beautiful different personalities and sensibilities across our land.
More beautiful? I also own the first volume BEAUTIFUL which you can peek at here:
5 Distinct Design Styles
You’ll discover in MORE BEAUTIFUL five distinct styles, “all of which exude the happiness that comes with surrounding oneself with things you love.”
I independently selected products in this post—if you buy from one of my links, I may earn a commission.
Which style is more you? I guarantee you’ll gravitate more toward one in particular, but isn’t the fusion of several a recipe for lovely?
All American Traditional Style
Traditional? When it’s styled traditionally by Mark Sikes, it is not your granny’s trad. Think rich colors, antiques, and plenty of patterns. Here’s a favorite traditional kitchen.
While you may know designer Mark D. Sikes is a renowned interior designer who creates one of a kind timeless spaces, he also partners with brands like Schumacher, Henredon, and Merida.
One of my favorite collaborations is Sikes + Annie Selke for Pine Cone Hill!
Hear from Mark, Annie, and Bunny Williams in this interview:
If you love all American decor, you will fall for his signature pieces HERE.
American Country Style
Country? Mmmmmm, weathered and rustic finishes work magic in laid back, welcoming spaces that can easily feel modern. I’m crazy about these country pieces Sikes designed for the table. (This pedestal is very similar to a Belgian antique compote I own and use constantly.)
Coastal? So much nature in those neutrals, sunshine in those woven textures, and airiness in pretty blues and whites.
Does the Schumacher fabric background in the quote above look familiar? Designed in collaboration with Mark D. Sikes, it is Palisades Floret in China Blue. I love Mark’s love affair with blue!
Mediterranean? Think “faraway lands, with a saturated palette, ornate tiles and ikats, and iron details.”
Beautiful Mark D. Sikes Style
The fifth style simply summarized as BEAUTIFUL encompasses Sikes’ signature favorites: Italian wicker, blue and white, and Anglo-Indian antiques.
I am so happy to hear I’m not the only one who still hangs on to books! It is becoming such an old fashioned sort of tendency that surely it can’t be long before it is JUST THE MOST CHIC THING.
