How I would love to visit the 2020 Southeastern Designer Showhouse on this, its last weekend! If you have the chance to safely tour it, please do and let me know your thoughts. I have admired this springtime traditional event in Atlanta from afar and always look forward to learning the resources such as paint colors shared by its talented contributing designers. I hope these 3 Neutral Paint Color Ideas from Southeastern Designer Showhouse 2020 inspire you as you choose a palette for your home.

Pause for a personal note…
As I type this, tornado sirens are blaring, a global health crisis is flaring, the spotlight on social systems is glaring, and I wonder how all of you are faring. Here in the heartland, my daily battle with chronic pancreatitis rages on, and while mine are not yet carefree summer days, I’m ever aware of blessings. A happy home in which to shelter, quality healthcare, financial stability, and also a supportive family.
Illness has provided me with a perspective I might never otherwise experience. Because my physical strength often fails, I have learned to draw from a nourishing Source available every moment.
While it feels somewhat odd to devote time and thought to paint colors at a time such as this, I also know colors impact our moods. And that we are destined to spend even more time at home in the coming days. Workplaces are changing. Social calendars are changing. Homes are evolving in their importance as they become sanctuary, office, temple, school, and rooms to heal. If in small ways I can somehow ease home improvement and decor decisions, it’s not major, but it’s something. And if I can do such small things with great love? I am willing to try.
Thank you for visiting this blog with so many alternate options before you. While I am not particularly wise, my posture remains open as reality shapes me (as a writer and a daughter of the Divine Mystery) into something new.
Southeastern Designer Showhouse 2020
More than 15 of the Southeast’s top interior designers have transformed the interiors of this light-filled residence.
This year’s showhouse is at Villa Flora, six wooded acres in Buckhead. The 11,000 sf home was renovated by Benecki Homes, SOURCE, Linda MacArthur Architect, Cole Construction and LandPlus.
The style? “As close to Santa Barbara as you can get without moving” with plaster walls, unique finishes, pools, and a turfed rear courtyard as well as trails punctuated by original sculpture.

Inspiration from 2018’s Southeastern Designer Showhouse
My favorite Atlanta designer, Sherry Hart of Design Indulgence, snapped these photos in 2018:

I spy hardworking Savannah Utility Baskets to store essentials beautifully in this gorgeous mud room!
Traditional English Country Kitchen by Matthew Quinn
I may or may not have three timeless marble bowls upon my counter this very instant…classic indeed.
English Country Style Butler Pantry
While I have neither a scullery nor an extraordinary sink like this, I do know where to find classic egg cups made in France that would be right at home in here!
