If you love Old World or traditional style and European inspired decor, then you likely admire the inspiring lighting, furnishings, and home decor produced by Aidan Gray. I thought you might enjoy seeing some Aidan Gray favorite home decor and furniture finds grouped together, and you may wish to PIN these items to your Frenchie Pinterest boards for future reference.
For 15 years, Aidan Gray’s 17th and 18th-century inspired designs have been created with attention to detail and unique antiqued finishes. I first learned about this source of lovely on Joni’s Cote de Texas blog years ago, and you may recall AG even named a sconce design after Joni. But my favorite use of Aidan Gray lighting came when I began to see how designer Brooke Giannetti incorporated Aidan Gray chandeliers, sconces, and lamps into her designs for clients and within her own homes. (Aidan Gray’s Mumaw chandelier shows up again and again in spaces designed by Brooke!)
The brand expanded its line to include more modern French inspired pieces so that now, you’ll find Aidan Gray lighting and furniture works seamlessly in a multitude of European styled designs. While Aidan Gray’s more traditional offerings are perfect in French Country styled interiors, they also work beautifully within modern farmhouses where a balance of old and new are mixed. Products are handmade from rustic metals, wood, silk, and linen, and the company offers outdoor items as well including planters and and sculptures.
What I love about the Aidan Gray lines…The aged texture of Aidan Gray’s lighting, furniture, and home decor adds so much timeless charm and appeal! Authentic antique European decor pieces can be difficult to impossible find and equally difficult to afford, so how wonderful to have a stylish alternative with an array of lovely options. With warm neutral colors and patina-ed finishes that blend nicely in a variety of settings, Aidan Gray is unlike anything else on the market.
Aidan Gray’s design philosophy?
“My goal is for every Aidan Gray piece to be able to stand alone. Since each product already contains a wealth of unique features, it’s our position that you don’t even need a lot of color in a room to make a statement. The product speaks for itself and radiates its design own story.” -Randal Weeks, founder and lead designer (via)
What sets Aidan Gray apart?
“It’s definitely all about the details – how we finish out the look and design of every piece we create. Quality hardware is used throughout, down to the sockets and the cords. If one of the lamps features a crystal base, you can be guaranteed that it’s actual crystal and not acrylic.
This attention to detail extends to all aspects of our design. We spend a great deal of time working with our factories to achieve our signature distressed finishing techniques, as well as our gold leafing applications. I have always been mesmerized by the hand carving that makes each lamp slightly different. I love the fact that Aidan Gray is creating products that possess a heirloom quality; pieces that will enrich homes for years to come.” -Randal Weeks, founder and lead designer (via)
