We chatted a little about what it is that distinguishes elegant Christmas decor from the rest in Part 1 of Best Elegant Christmas Decor, and today the exploration continues.
While a “less is more” principle frequently guides elegant interior design, at the holidays, massive can be massive. My sister, for example, loves to occasionally GO BIG in her elegant Christmas decorating. I believe we may have counted 9 twinkling, multi-sized Christmas trees in her grand home a few seasons back. Years later, she has one simple not-so-grand tree in her charming townhouse. Let’s not be quick to judge, btw. We all have different comfort levels, biases, and budgets when it comes to expressing joy, faith, blessings, and passions swelling within our hearts during the holidays.
Elegant Christmas decor need not require a second mortgage. It need not be boring, stuffy, or lacking in a sense of humor either. Elegance blooms where an eye opens wide for beauty, balance, and cohesiveness.

I am home in Chicagoland after Thanksgiving in Arizona, and while I decorated the front porch for Christmas before I left, it’s time to get crackalackin with indoor holiday touches. I’m so inspired by the tabletop trees I see in blogland and Pinterest, so that is at the top of my list. How about you? Will you have a tree or 10?
Peace to you right where you are.
