Raise your hand if you love plaid! (hand is raised HIGH!). So many of us are mad for plaid during this holiday season! I recently had to explain the difference between plaid (a sort of pattern) and flannel (a brushed cotton fabric) to our 26-year old who is obviously soooooo not a design savvy reader of Hello Lovely! I personally love to wear plaid in winter, whether it’s a tunic from Madewell or a plaid wool scarf and it’s such a casual, charming, and cozy pattern to call on for holiday decorations, giftwrap, pillows, and throws..
In the country style room above, I spy at least seven different plaids represented in pillows, wool throws, giftwrap, stockings, rugs, and more…yet the mix works harmoniously. I especially admire the vintage sugar sack stockings capped with plaid and contrasting attractively with the deep teal paneling covering the fireplace surround.
