I’m having a gorgeous holiday moment, listening to inspiring Christmas music (have you heard this version of “O Come All Ye Faithful?”) and flipping through the December issues of my favorite shelter magazines. Birmingham designer Dana Wolter shared the secrets of her holiday decor in a recent issue of Southern Living I just devoured, and I thought you may enjoy pinning these stunning visions of her elegant home in its royal purple velvet glory, with its lovely and unique Christmas decorations. There are some home decor suggestions sprinkled in with affiliate links…for which you won’t pay extra, yet I’ll earn a few pennies as I deliver the daily lovely. 🙂
From Ms. Wolter’s bio: Known for her chic Southern style, Dana is a Birmingham, AL, award-winning designer. She and her team create elegant, inviting, functional homes that are centered around each client’s personal definition of living well. Living well for some may mean a luxurious, custom home specifically designed for their family. For others, it may be a home that’s an oasis, a haven from the world. Dana works to support the client’s own definition by giving meaning to life through the home.

Suspend a Cherub (or Wings or an Elf) From the Ceiling.
Here’s an option that can remain in your room all year through…
Add Height & Architecture with Branches.
Isn’t this teepee-garland-nest-for-presents divinely rustic and marvelously juxtaposed with the curvy sumptuous seating? Notice the red ribbon is a sophisticated, rusty hue…and who would think to place this happy nail-studded ottoman upon a beautiful happy red rug like this? Genius, and I can’t stop staring and imagining myself sipping and smiling in the happy vignette!
“I believe in living well in a home that is centered around what is important to you. A home that is beautiful and functional for everyday living and entertaining, a place to retreat and make memories with family and friends.”
