I grew up with the holiday tradition of an abundance of Swedish Christmas decorations…not limited to dala horses, straw goats and stars, Swedish tomte (gnomes), signs proclaiming “God Jul,” and hand-painted Swedish everything. Small red wood candelabra glowed in our window sills, and my sisters and I were a part of annual Santa Lucia pageants. Our home smelled of Swedish pancakes, clove-studded oranges, and sometimes even lutefisk. I even shared some of my mom’s Swedish accents here.
If you’re Scandinavian, some of these holiday traditions may be familiar to you. It was a rich and beautiful heritage to experience Christmas and the holidays, and as a result, Swedish Christmas decor will always be close to my heart.
Today I’m sharing part 2 of a collection of inspiring Swedish Christmas decor (specifically, Swedish Farmhouse holiday decor) with ideas for home decor items which you may be able to score for a song with all the Black Friday extensions and Cyber Monday madness.
