I adore this charming kitchen with French farmhouse decor elements which only appears to be located in the South of France…it’s actually within the 1,800 square foot Paris apartment belonging to photographer Roxanne Beis.
While the kitchen feels rustic and edgy with its polished concrete floors and shelves, it retains a charming, home-y, farmhouse feel with a handmade farm table, linen curtains concealing storage in the island, and warm reclaimed wood accents.
Stainless steel appliances keep it feeling modern and fresh, and ALL THOSE GORGEOUS WINDOWS ALLOWING THE NATURAL LIGHT TO FLOOD THE SPACE…heavens to Betsy, they are just gold, aren’t they?
Here’s how Remodelista describes the material that plays a starring role in this Paris kitchen:
“The once-prosaic counter and island are transformed into sculptural forms with the application of cement render, a mixture of lime, sand, and volcanic ash that’s used to smooth over rough concrete or brick walls, and is typically associated with rural abodes–in Provence, for example. In her lofty, white, urban setting, Beis updates the material by applying it to minimalist forms and pairing it with sleek stainless-steel appliances.”
