There were just too many beautiful and inspiring shots of fall pumpkins for one post, so here’s the second showing of simply stunning squash born in autumn that the French call pompon and a few folks in the bourgeois neck of my woods call ‘punkin’…you can devour part one right here.
Do you like cooking and baking with pumpkin in the fall? It’s not a flavor I enjoy, but to keep my family happy, I bake pumpkin cakes and buy pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. Food 52 describes pumpkin as an ingredient for delicious recipes this way: “Pumpkin is like your coolest friend: It fits in everywhere, effortlessly. Whether you add it to a soup with goat cheese or to cookies with chocolate chips, pumpkin will flatter the other ingredients yet keep its own distinct personality.”
I may have to make this Hard Squash Hummus they shared since it looks amazing, yes?
Do you bake your own pumpkin pie?
On with the pumpkin show.
