I came *this close* to buying a 1970’s Airstream a few years back, and my sons are still raking me over the coals for not pulling the trigger. I don’t even remember why I passed on the Craigslist camper fixer upper. (Oh yeah, college tuitions and mortgage-sized landscape expenses because mommy can’t garden, boys.) But if ever I do get my paws on a silvery mobile love shack, THIS is how to trip out the interior simply and tastefully.
Jenni Kayne’s style is so beautifully harmonious with my own quiet, timeless, and tranquil sensibilities, and just look at how she warmed up her Cali-cozy-mobile with organic and neutral lovely. She’s taking it on the road to launch the new Jenni Kayne Home Collection you see aboard the pretty spaceship.
How did Team Jenni Kayne primp this ride?
“My team and I were looking for a way to celebrate the launch of Jenni Kayne Home, and a mobile shop felt like the perfect way to do it. We bought a silver 1957 Airstream and renovated it to look like one of our stores with beautiful oak-color walls and custom white-washed walnut storage. Then we styled the Airstream with our new alpaca blankets and pillows, shearling slippers, and hand-poured candles along with a few other special items from our stores. I’m blown away by how great it looks—I want to live there!”
Omg. The linen! The soothing calm! The compact luxury! So perfect for pajamanistas! Jenni even offers an alpaca eye mask so we can sleep in with the delicious sunlight streaming through those undressed windows. Lord have mercy, all I need is a wealthy sponsor to materialize *poof* with a Midcentury silver bullet to carry this blogging fairy on the ultimate Hello Lovely, _____(<–your brand here) road trip…YES?
Let’s exit Jenni’s Airstream and take a peek at her beautiful bedroom I’m smitten with:
Would you, could you, re-design the interiors of a charming camper? (And what is it about tiny home design and wee house decor that has so many of us buzzed, especially in fall?)
Here’s another Midcentury Airstream renovation for the books.
Peace to you right where you are.
