Two Charming Renovations by Corbin Bernsen: A French Farmhouse and a 1940s Ranch
If you are as old as me, then you may have been a fan of L.A. Law, and you fans will remember Corbin Bernsen’s character, Arnie Becker–remember? Corbin Bernsen was a carpenter before stardom, and he and his wife, actress, Amanda Pays, have been flipping houses for years.
The couple has four grown sons, including twin boys the same age as my eldest…so since Corbin pretended to be an attorney, and my husband is a real life one, we’re practically the same couple, right?
After all, my husband and I are also seasoned pros (whatever!) at DIY whole house renovation, so I was intrigued after learning how this couple approaches their projects and ecstatic that they have written a book!
I was surprised to learn the renovators rely on flea markets and bargain hunting in all their projects–even their own homes that you’ll see here.
Their style is very eclectic, spare, and undone.
Below you’ll first see their French farmhouse in the South of France (images are from their book, Open House), a home they intend to hold on to forever as well as their 1940’s ranch in Southern California.
