As popular as modern farmhouse design and
decor are today, you might not know it from
searching online for examples of
beautiful modern farmhouse living rooms.

It’s a subjective matter, but frankly,
I think images of well-done modern farmhouse
living rooms are in short supply on Pinterest.

I really would love it if you did!

While you’ll find far too many examples of
country decorated living rooms with references
to roosters, cows, and poor housekeeping,
the modern farmhouse style I’m drawn to
apparently remains in short supply.

So much so that I feel compelled to
become more actively engaged in my curating…
After all, I have local friends living in homes
with gorgeous farmhouse style living rooms,
and it’s high time I got to snapping photos!

Modern farmhouse living rooms typically
feature a mix of old and new furnishings,
rustic and painted wood pieces,
exposed beams and rafters,
high ceilings and wide openings,
unfussy fabrics and window treatments,
and an informal welcoming vibe.

My favorite modern farmhouse living room may be
the Texas one above designed by its homeowner,
Eleanor Cummings,
with a palette beyond soothing and magical.
I could stare at this heavenly room forever.
