My Home March 2012: Laundry Room & Powder Room

I love my laundry/mud room.

and re-painted it the other day

(Benjamin Moore ‘shale’).

Found this great dentil molding shelf

for $5 in the 90s, and painted the

Oscar Wilde panels a few years back.

The ballerina is an old treasured lithograph,

and the little baseball?

It will stay with me forever.

Oh the little citrus tree…

it WANTS to live long enough to bear

fruit so desperately.

It is alive, and the nurturing continues.

Here’s the little powder room just round the corner.

I just painted the walls Martha Stewart ‘shale.’

Can you believe the color here has the same name

as the stone colored grey one in the laundry room?

It’s a gorgeous steely blue-grey and was inspired

by the original painting by an artist friend.

Yes, that’s another vintage rosary draped upon a sketch.

It’s these little touches, these glimpses of the

heart underneath that make it feel like home for me.

Painted any rooms lately?

Colors! Colors! Do tell!

Peace to you right where you are.

No rooms lately but quite a few pieces of furniture! I'm actually planning on repainting my laundry room soon. Love yours and that shelf, and the way you have it decorated is fabulous!

    Hi my friend,

You have an open invitation to come over and beautify my laundry room – any time you want. Mine looks nothing like yours… Think the opposite of fresh, airy and decluttered!

Now, what is the story behind that adorable mini baseball?

Just flowers, not walls. Your choices are wonderful!

I love the simple tranquil feel of your designs. I bet you take a deep breath and sigh every time you enter your home. Love it!

    I love your sayings…

We are all Stardust according to astrophysicist Neil Degrassi Tyson
not just looking at the stars, we are made of them…

That painting in your bathroom is heavenly, and the color on the walls is amazing. Hmmmm, you know i'm struggling with a bathroom color, in a bathroom with no light… your "Shale" is so calming and nice especially with the painting. Love how uncluttered your home is…
and i'm very curious about the baseball treasure….

We call it a utility room here, and my goodness yours is lovely! I love the soothing stoney colour and your magical little touches that make it so personal and homey.

Love the darker shade in your cloakroom too! I'm hoping to have a cloakroom in our next house (whenever we manage to move) and rather fancy a dark little room too!

    Hugs hugs

So wish I had a separate utility room to doll all up pretty like your gorgeous one! The paint colours you've chosen are lovely, I'm a bit partial to soft greys myself 😉 xxx

So soft and pretty! Benj Moore paints are wonderful and I really like the color of your mud room. I've yet to try the Martha Stewart line – need to do that. As soon as our weather warms up (and I can open windows) I will be doing some painting 🙂

Yes! Just painted a paneled library the most handsome and restful shade of a deep green blue shade, a Ben Moore hue called Aegean Teal. It is simply gorgeous at every hour of the day.

    Check it out.
    🙂

I think I would love my laundry room more if there were a bit more … of it.

    Loving yours.
