{Lovely Finds} From Paris

You guys haven’t been over in ages

so come on in…and of course, I have

made a few changes!

You will know with certainty pod people

have snatched your pointe-shoed bloggy friend

should her rooms remain stagnant

for more than a season.

The studio with swing and piano.

Shabby Chic wool rug, table found curbside,

and the canvases always be a changin.

I love my new French apron and dishtowel from

Tina at The Enchanted Home…underneath

my daily breakfast (yogurt, berries, homemade

granola) it classes up the joint.

The formal dining room is still a headache.

Still soooo not sexy.

It doesn’t feel like me, but it’s not a

priority to re-style it right now so

I’m using the table as

an inspiration board with ideas

for collages to create.

Handmade lace, sheets, and clothing thrifted in Paris

mingle with antique French documents going

back to the 1500s.

You can see a little of the original LULU DK art

I bought at One King’s Lane…yes yes yes, prints

are great, but have you lived with original art?

Say from my very own lil shop?

I’m tellin ya. You will be hooked.

Everybody who visits falls in love with these guys.

They are Sonny Angels from

one of the animal collections.

I spotted them in a highend Paris shop

window, and since they were for display only,

I couldn’t wait to gettogoogling

and collect my own.

Will this cutout of me and my sis in the

depression-era goblet inspire a legion of

copycats to dress their china hutch

similarly????

*shakes Magic 8 Ball*

“MY SOURCES SAY NO”

Teeny peek at a new etagere, but I still need

to style the shelves so this is all you get for

now cuz it’s not photoworthy yet.

Step into the kitchen where I’m

only sharing a fuzzy peek at new counter stools

my husband brought home because he felt

humiliated by

the poor condition of those with which

we were making do

(since so many teens use this

kitchen, and there are a few things I

enjoy more than babysitting fabulous

vulnerable Belgian linen seats and wielding

my wooden spoon).

This is Ina Garten’s apple crisp

I made in

individual ramekins for

super fun girlfriends this weekend,

but we’re sharing.

This was us on my deck last time we frolicked.

What’s beside my bed right now…

this fabulous teaser of a mini mag from heaven.

Still with me?

Want me to play us out with one

of my freshly written ballads

for the insane?

That will require a little more

prodding and a good Pinot,

kittycats.

How the heck are you, and would you

like your crisp a la mode?

Peace to you right where you are.

The house looks great. How did the apple crisps turn out from her book? I haven't made them yet. With everyone smiling they must have been good! – Tonya

Your counter chairs look lovely. I am also on the hunt for some. Can't decide if I am going modern or more traditional…

    Hugs to you.

I'm with you, I have to change my home constantly because I have design ADHD…… 🙂 You have a wonderful neutral backdrop to make that possible. And btw, I LOVE the cutout of you and your sister and maybe I might just give it a try. 😉

I LOVE your house… It's so calm, and there are so many soulful and fun things tucked into surprising places. The artwork over the sofa is wonderful too. What a fun post…

Loved the peek through your windows! Have a question…what color paint is on your dining room walls? Love the color and the monogram stenciling.

Oh…I loved seeing this tour of your home. Everything is so lovely! Loved the big lantern in the living room with the lights in it….I think I must copy that! But loved everything…..thanks so much for linking up at my party!

the apple crisp was great! it's her recipe with pears and apples but this time i used only apples. there's a lot of citrus flavor in her recipe.

    @LAC
it's Benjamin Moore's white sand. still love this color, and it's the main color throughout our home.

    Oh, you will make
    those bits and pieces
    S I N G, yes you will!

    Even though you aren't
    feeling the love, I'm a
    tad envious that you have
    a dining hutch. Our dining
    room has three walls of
    windows, so no big hutch
for me, only a buffet. I
love the idea of the twinkle
    lights inside : )

    Happy Monday, girlie!

I have adapted other lazy granola recipes found online to my own taste…here's Michele's Lazy Granola Recipe:

½ cup melted butter or organic coconut oil (it's awesome so seek it out if you're new to it)
    ¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup honey or maple syrup
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    6 cups old fashioned oatmeal
    2 cups corn flakes

Optional yummy add-ins (I like dried cranberries and cherries, chocolate covered pomegranate seeds, yogurt covered raisins, nuts, whatev tingles.).

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9×13 pan with butter or nonstick spray. Measure out the oats and cornflakes in a large mixing bowl. Toss. Dissolve the brown sugar and honey/syrup in the butter/coconut oil by heating it (I do this in the microwave in a glass measuring cup, but on the range is okay too). Add vanilla and cinnamon to the measuring cup. Pour over oat/cereal mixture and mix gently but thoroughly. Pour into prepared pan. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Then turn off oven and forget about it for 3 to 4 hours (overnight will work too). Remove from oven then gently break up granola and add your goodies. Store in ziplock bags. Enjoy!
