British fashion photographer
Brian Duffy
has been called
"the man who shot the 60's."

He passed away recently,
yet thanks to his family,
a few fabulous photos from the
fashion and celebrity scene
of the sixties and seventies continue
to rock the planet and still
breathe on the pages of

Duffy
(ACC Distribution)
an exceptionally quality book which
photography and style lovers
will go mad for.

Feelin' Duffy?

Oh, I am loving this shot,
and a part of me wants to rip it
right out of this glorious book
and place it on the wall
with the help of washi tape.
But I won't!
Much TOO b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. a book.

David Bowie - Aladdin Sane, 1973

Remember this far-out album cover?

Duffy's photo of David Bowie
is one of his most recognizable works.

Debbie Harry, 1977

Omg.
So incredible.
*Cue "Call Me"*
I remember precisely where I was
when I first heard Blondie's sexy vocals.
Not that you care, but it was also
the first and only season I was ever popular in school...

Brian Duffy

Even though the fashion scene as captured
by Duffy was an amazing feast for the senses,
the photographer turned most of the evidence
of that innovative work to ashes.

From the ACC website, we learn:
"Notoriously, in 1979 Duffy decided
to give up photography, burning many
of his negatives in a symbolic fire
in his back yard...
Recently many negatives have
been discovered and salvaged."

...which is why this book is no ordinary volume.
(Another extraordinary title is

Photographing Fashion
Is she not fierce?

(by Richard Lester,
will also inspire your pants off.
Um.
Pants off seems fitting for a post
honoring the sixties/seventies, yes?

Anyone fortunate enough to get their
paws on both swinging sixties titles...SCORE!
Ooooh, yeah, baby.

*sips drink*
*bats artificial lashes*
*gold chains a dangling*
What's your sign?

p.s.
A few years back, this blogger
who is not Duffy
created a tulle shrug and had fun
snapping Twiggy-inspired pics
of a friend...

She was so focused!

  1. You are darn good!!! My mum presented me a book by Twiggy which has everything from her love for shoes( she says: I'm sometimes topless but never legless) to her exercise regime.

And boy that has some fabulous photographs of her.

    Well done!!! So close.
